On Monday, there were many cars on the road. Zhan Xi drove a
little further before stopping the tricycle.
He leaned into the cart and looked at the little child, who
had tears streaming down his face.
Feeling both angry and amused, he said, “No wonder you
didn’t want to go to school this morning. It turns out you didn’t do any of
your homework.”
The little child was lying on a small stool, writing
characters in a crooked and twisted manner.
Zhan Xi tried for a long time but couldn’t recognize what he
had written.
The child, who had been scolded by his father, continued to
shed tears while tightly gripping the pencil in his chubby hand, diligently
continuing to write.
He wrote the unfamiliar characters on three pages as slowly
as a turtle crawled.
Zhan Xi looked at his watch and calculated the time, saying,
“Alright, we don’t have any more time. Let’s go to school first, and next time,
make sure to finish your homework properly.”
If they continued to stop on the roadside to do homework, the
little child would be late.
Zhan Xi started the tricycle again.
Inside the cart, the little child managed to finish writing the
characters on the three pages and began to recite ancient poetry.
Ancient poetry had been passed down from ancient Earth, and
generation after generation of people loved the poetry and cultural heritage of
ancient Earth.
The child was currently reciting an introductory short poem
titled “Goose.”
He recited it with a sobbing tone, saying “Goose, goose,
goose” at the end.
If Zhan Xi wasn’t in a hurry, he would have wanted to record
this scene.
He sighed in front, saying, “You’re already doing extra
homework in kindergarten. What will you do when you start elementary school?”
Soon enough, Zhan Xi drove the tricycle to the entrance of
the kindergarten, where Wagner, who came to school, happened to be.
He looked at the crying Ningning being carried and ran over
with a puzzled look, saying, “Ningning, what’s wrong with you?”
Zhan Xi didn’t want to reveal his own child’s situation, so
he didn’t mention the reason.
He sent both children inside and told them to study well in
the kindergarten.
The two little children held hands and walked through the
gate, while the little child kept looking back at his father.
Wagner waved his hand and comforted him, saying, “Ningning,
are you feeling reluctant to leave your dad? It’s okay. After our morning
classes, your dad will come to pick you up.”
The little child sniffed and asked Wagner, “Wagner, have you
finished your homework?”
Wagner nodded. “Yes, I finished it. My dad watched me write
it.”
Ningning: “…”
Sigh.
The little child felt anxious thinking about the homework he
had rushed to finish. As expected, when he got to class, the teacher criticized
his hastily done homework. Not only was it criticized, but the teacher also
asked him to rewrite it.
Encountering these things early in the morning, the little
child’s mood could be imagined as being not very good.
Wagner was very loyal and offered to help him with his
homework.
“No.”
The little child shook his head and refused Wagner’s
proposal. He hung his chubby face and stated the reason for his refusal: “My
brother and Uncle Ling Qi will check it.”
If it was discovered that he had let someone else do his
homework, he would become a bad little child.
In kindergarten life, happiness and sadness were always mixed
together.
After a morning of classes, school ended at noon, and Zhan Xi
came to pick up the little child on his modified three-wheeled vehicle.
Although Zhan Xi’s modified tricycle was not as expensive as
other parents’ luxury cars, the children at the entrance liked it a lot.
The tricycle’s body was decorated with super popular cartoon
characters and cute animal illustrations.
The children thought it was so cute!
Zhan Xi picked up his child, Wagner, and the little prince,
Huo Lin. The three children sat in the back, and Ningning, who was unhappy all
morning, became happy again in his brother’s arms.
Ten minutes later.
A tricycle parked in the courtyard.
Ling Qi carried the little child out of the car and carefully
examined the child’s eyes. “Do your eyes hurt? Let me apply something for you.”
The little child had delicate skin, especially the eyelids.
Every time he cried, his eyes would swell up, presenting a pitiful sight with
their red and swollen appearance, which tugged at people’s hearts.
Ling Qi carried the little child with slightly reddened
eyelids into the house, while Zhan Xi led Wagner and Huo Lin.
Wagner and Huo Lin were no strangers to this place; they had
been here many times before.
“It smells so good.”
As soon as Wagner entered the house, he sniffed the air,
catching the scent.
Ling Qi had prepared a table full of dishes. Knowing that Huo
Lin was coming, he steamed some extra rice.
“You guys eat. Ningning will be there with you soon.”
Huo Lin glanced at the child sitting on Ling Qi’s lap. The
child had his eyes closed, obediently letting Ling Qi roll a boiled egg on his
eyelids.
Although the child hadn’t said why he was crying, Huo Lin had
a good guess.
He bent down and asked the child, who had the egg on his
eyelids, in a low voice, “Can you do your homework properly next time?”
The child remained silent, nodding dejectedly.
After applying the egg, Ling Qi washed it and casually handed
it to Zhan Xi. Zhan Xi didn’t mind and finished eating the egg in two bites.
Having experienced many difficult days before, Zhan Xi never
wasted food.
At the dining table, Zhan Xi asked Huo Lin, “What have your
parents been doing these days? Are they busy?”
Yesterday, Zhan Xi sent videos of the child to Ludwig and Ai
Wei. Not only did they reply late, but their responses also felt strange to
him.
Huo Lin hesitated for a moment, unsure whether he should tell
Zhan Xi about his mother’s situation.
Mom’s affairs involved Ningning, and logically, Uncle Zhan
should be informed. However, judging by his Father’s attitude, he wanted to
forcefully suppress these matters on his own.
“They are a bit busy.”
Huo Lin carefully considered his words and didn’t immediately
reveal everything.
Zhan Xi was a person without airs, and although Ling Qi
didn’t talk much and had a difficult temperament to approach, after getting
along, he’s also very easy-going.
The three kids sat together and had a comfortable meal.
After dinner...
The three of them slept together, while Zhan Xi and Ling Qi
tidied up the table and chatted: “Ling Qi, Ningning is already three years old.
Should we prepare a small room for him? I see other children have their own
rooms and sleep alone.”
Although Zhan Xi didn’t want to sleep separately from his
child, he noticed that other parents in the parent group chat had independent
bedrooms for their children.
Zhan Xi had no previous experience with children, so he
didn’t know how to raise them properly.
Fortunately, he lacked experience, and Ling Qi knew a bit
more than him.
“Three years old is still young.”
Ling Qi sat on a chair, saying they would clean up together,
but he didn’t move. He only moved his mouth: “Other parents let their children
sleep alone, not simply to cultivate their independence.”
Zhan Xi: “?”
Zhan Xi perked up his ears: “If it’s not to cultivate
independence, why separate the child?”
Ling Qi: “...”
Ling Qi looked at this foolish father with a complicated
expression, wanting to see if he genuinely didn’t understand or was pretending
not to: “Are you stupid?”
“If the child is in the same room, what about the couple’s
intimacy?”
The last sentence made Zhan Xi feel embarrassed all of a sudden.
Zhan Xi had never been married before. Although he had saved
up money for a wife, most of the savings were spent by the unexpected arrival
of the little child.
Now he had no money but had a child, which was not an ideal
situation. Therefore, he had already given up on the idea of finding a wife and
only planned to raise the little child.
“Alright then, I won’t rush to prepare a separate room for
Ningning.”
Zhan Xi regained his thoughts and smiled. “When he grows a
little older, I will arrange a small room for him.”
Ling Qi responded with a sound of “Hmm.”
The adults didn’t take a nap, only the three little children
were sound asleep. Ningning, sandwiched in the middle, had chubby legs kicking
on his brother’s stomach, feeling warm and cozy.
After the nap, it was time to go to kindergarten.
Ningning didn’t know how the other kids felt about going to
school, but he knew he didn’t like it very much. Whether it was the mecha
class, combat class, or language class, they were all difficult.
Regardless of the difficulty, he still needed to strive to
keep up.
After school, Ling Qi took the initiative to personally tutor
him in mecha and combat classes. With his guidance, the little child barely
managed to pass.
Days passed by slowly.
Another day passed, and the little child went to the palace
with Wagner. He would occasionally spend the night at the palace, and Zhan Xi
and Ling Qi had long been accustomed to it.
Inside the palace.
The two little children were led by Andrei to the hall.
Andrei was smiling as he told them about the freshly made
snacks, “Ningning, we will have sweet soup in the evening, and there will be
small dumplings in the soup.”
Listening to Andrei’s description of the dessert, the little
child who loved sweets walked faster.
As Ningning looked up in the hall, his little face froze.
He glanced at the beautiful Aunt Ella and thought about how
she had pricked his finger before hesitating for a moment.
Nevertheless, he ran over to Aunt Ai Wei and extended his
hand, saying, “Auntie, carry me!”
Aunt Ai Wei was the best because she didn’t prick Ningning’s
hand!
Ai Wei lifted him up. There was a faint hint of gloom on her
face that always smiled tenderly at the little child.
She carried the little child to the side and said, “Why does
our Ningning feel lighter? Did you not eat enough?”
As soon as this was mentioned, the little child’s happy face
from earlier turned instantly aggrieved.
“Auntie.”
The little child’s voice sounded different, resembling the
tone he used when tattling.
He circled his arms around the beautiful aunt’s neck, his
chubby face on the verge of tears, and said, “The teacher said I’m fat and told
me to run.”
Ever since the last weighing session in kindergarten, the
physical education teacher had been fixated on the chubby little child in the
Green Grass Class.
Although the little child had slimmed down a bit since the
first time, he still hadn’t reached the standard weight set by the school.
Ai Wei looked at the chubby little child and affectionately
kissed his little face, saying, “Our Ningning has already lost so much weight,
why isn’t the teacher satisfied? Be good, don’t be sad. Auntie doesn’t think
you’re fat at all.”
While Ai Wei was comforting the chubby little child, in
another room, Ludwig and Ella went to the study.
When Huo Lin noticed that his father didn’t call him, he
hesitated, unsure if he should go over.
“Xiao Lin, come here.”
It was still Ai Wei who called her son over. “Come here and
keep Ningning company while eating. Let him enjoy his meal.”
Upon hearing this, Huo Lin walked over.
In the study.
Ludwig connected with Zhan Xi through communication and
introduced Ella to him, explaining the situation.
“The results of the examination Ella conducted on Ningning a
few days ago have come out.”
Upon hearing this, Zhan Xi immediately became attentive.
Due to the poor medical conditions on the barren planet, the
little child hadn’t had any illnesses or disasters in the past two years.
Therefore, they hadn’t conducted any thorough examinations
apart from the one during kindergarten enrollment. Besides the weight issue,
the only other problem was the little child’s weak mental power.
In general, Ningning was a healthy child.
But looking at Ludwig’s expression, Zhan Xi inexplicably felt
a bit uneasy.
He forced himself to appear calm and asked, “How is Ningning’s
result? Was he found to be overweight again?”
“No, he’s not overweight.”
Ella looked at the handsome man on the screen and got
straight to the point, saying, “His current test results can be considered
good, but they can also be considered bad.”
“Deep down... I think we all know his true identity. The good
news is that he is currently healthy. However, the bad news is that his home
planet and where he should have lived, and the royal family he should have
belonged, have already disappeared. This royal family was known to be both
powerful and fragile. They are powerful enough to soothe everyone’s spirits but
equally fragile, with no attacking power.”
“I don’t know how you’ve been taking care of this child, but
I have to remind you that he will be a difficult child to raise. The entire
royal family was known for being difficult to raise.”
After detecting something unusual, Ella spent a long time
going through the information she had collected. That’s also why she came to
the palace only now.
She was shocked that such a delicate child could actually be
successfully raised by an ordinary person.
You should know that the mortality rate of the children in
the extinct royal family was very high.
The child, who was described by Ella as difficult to raise,
was now sitting on his exclusive little chair and had finished a bowl of food.
The little child held the spoon and said in a sweet voice,
“Ningning wants another bowl!”
Thanks for the update!! 🤭🤭
