When Huo Lin finally returned to the living room with a calm
expression, the little child, who was making a phone call on the sofa, had a
sad look on his chubby face.
“Ningning, what’s wrong?”
Huo Lin walked over in a few steps and sat beside the little
child, not looking at the chubby bundle in the child’s arms, but instead gently
stroked the little child’s cheek.
Fortunately, his cheek was smooth, and there were no tears.
“Brother.”
With his brother present, the little child immediately let go
of Rolling and climbed onto his brother’s lap, hugging him. “Wagner said it’s
illegal to keep Rolling.”
He couldn’t keep Rolling anymore.
Huo Lin’s fingertip gently rubbed the chubby cheek, and the
warm and soft touch was indeed addictive. “Keeping Rolling in secret is indeed
not allowed, but it’s not illegal to keep him openly and honestly.”
The little child didn’t understand.
Huo Lin simply explained in a simpler and more understandable
way, “I’ve already taken care of it. From now on, Rolling can be kept in the
palace, and you can see him whenever you want.”
“What about Fatty?”
“Fatty can stay too.”
The little child didn’t need to mention any conditions and
his brother had already fulfilled his wish. So, compared to Ludwig, the little
prince clearly won the child’s heart.
“Brother, you’re so kind!”
The little child was so happy and touched, he hugged his
brother’s neck and left a wet kiss on his cheek.
Leaning against the back of the sofa, Huo Lin, who usually
had a cold and stern face, resembling that of his father, showed a gentle
expression.
Fatty looked at Huo Lin and then at Ningning. He held some
fruit and sat on the floor, content to go with the flow.
With Huo Lin personally arranging it, Rolling’s living
arrangements in the palace were quickly settled.
Fatty didn’t want to stay in the palace.
With his paws, he pulled the little child, expressing his
intention to stay together with him.
In the afternoon,
The little child, in order to watch Rolling, asked his older
brother to move the small desk used for doing homework to the garden. He bit
the end of his pencil and kept his eyes glued to Rolling.
“Ningning, write your new characters.”
“I’m writing.”
Only when reminded by his older brother did the little child
lower his head and write a few strokes.
Seeing that things were going this way, and the child’s
efficiency in doing homework was extremely low, Huo Lin made a firm decision
and sent Rolling back to the small house, with Fatty following along.
Ningning: “...”
Ningning’s protest failed, so he could only obediently start
writing.
The workload at the Imperial Military Kindergarten wasn’t
high, but it still took some time to complete everything.
After finishing the assignments in his workbook, Andrei, the
butler, brought out his mini mecha. Mecha training was also an assignment
assigned by the kindergarten.
Wagner had left, so Ningning no longer had a playmate to
practice with.
After a few seconds of contemplation, Huo Lin decided to wear
his own mecha and accompany the child to practice.
Huo Lin’s mecha was entirely black, very cool-looking. The
sleek design of the mecha impressed Ningning, who only cared about colors, and
he genuinely thought this black mecha looked good too.
“Big brother, Ningning wants a black mecha too!”
The child put on his own mini mecha, but he felt that his
rainbow-colored mecha was no longer appealing.
Huo Lin said softly, “If you can hit big brother, big brother
will paint it black for you.”
Excited by these words, the child exclaimed, “Okay!”
Huo Lin had only put on half of his mecha, with his head
still exposed. Judging by the little child’s current skill level, if he managed
to hit Huo Lin even once, he would already be considered qualified.
No matter what kind of mecha it was, even if it’s a small
mecha specifically designed for children, it still had a significant weight.
When the little child first started using mechas, he couldn’t
even take a step. With the careful guidance of his teacher, he gradually
adapted to this small but heavy mecha.
“Brother, I’m here, ready for action!”
The little child, who hadn’t had a mecha battle with his
brother yet, excitedly rushed towards him.
In the backyard, a big and small mecha engaged in a battle.
Ludwig, who was tired from work, happened to see this scene from the study
window.
He calmly watched the little child chasing after his brother,
but he couldn’t land a hit no matter what.
“You silly little one.”
Ludwig said with a disdainful tone, but there was not a trace
of disdain in his eyes.
After observing for a while, he saw the rainbow-colored small
mecha stumble and fall on the grass. The black mecha bent down, but it didn’t
help the small mecha up.
“Ningning, you almost got me.”
Huo Lin knew that the little child was exhausted, but this
short amount of time was too brief, far from enough for the little child to
rest.
The fallen small mecha emitted sounds of panting. The little
child’s face was sweaty, and he didn’t respond to his brother’s words. Instead,
he got up and once again extended his fist towards his brother.
After watching for a while, Ludwig noticed that something was
amiss.
“Ai Wei, doesn’t Ningning’s mecha have an AI control system?”
“No, Rick made some modifications to Ningning’s mecha.
Ningning’s mecha is of the original style, not requiring mental control, but
also abandoning the AI automatic control system.”
The AI automatic control of mechas was useful for effectively
showcasing certain actions during combat and maximizing the utilization of
power. It worked better under mental control.
Since Ningning didn’t possess mental abilities, Teacher Rick
simply discarded the AI as well, using this most primitive type of small mecha.
Upon hearing Ai Wei’s words, Ludwig furrowed his brows
slightly. “Using this kind of primitive-style mecha requires more effort than
other mechas.”
The little child used this thing for training every day, and
he’s probably exhausted from it.
He thought about Rick’s identity and a trace of contemplation
crossed his face. After a while, he suddenly spoke, “Next time we have time,
let’s take Ningning to the Sixth Planet.”
The Sixth Planet also operated under a royal governance
system. It could be considered a technological powerhouse. Their AI technology,
mecha technology, as well as construction and other skills, were all extremely exquisite.
Most of the advanced mechas on the White Mist Star were
imported from the Sixth Planet.
The King of the Sixth Planet was famous for two things.
First, he had an exceptionally attractive appearance.
Second, he was notorious for being a miser. He placed extreme
emphasis on profits. Despite being of a similar age to Ludwig, he had yet to
take a spouse.
According to unreliable gossip tabloids, he still hadn’t
found a spouse because he feared they would spend his money.
Ai Wei thought about the King of the Sixth Planet and then
looked at Ningning outside.
She certainly understood Ludwig’s intention. He wanted
Ningning to receive a customized mecha on the Sixth Planet. No matter how
skilled Rick was, he couldn’t compare to the mecha artisans of the Sixth
Planet.
“If we go there, let’s not stay in the palace.”
She was afraid that the stingy king would look down on
Ningning for eating too much.
Ludwig remained silent, and after a moment, he said, “I’ll
pay him double the living expenses in advance.”
Ludwig and Ai Wei were seriously considering Ningning’s
travel plan. When their son, Caesar, began practicing mecha, the mecha he used
was also customized on the Sixth Planet.
Now it was Ningning’s turn, and it was only natural for them
to make a trip there.
Time passed bit by bit.
After practicing for an hour, the little child was on the
verge of exhaustion.
When the time was about right, Huo Lin let Ningning hit him.
“Alright, Ningning, we’re done.”
Huo Lin jumped out of his own mecha and instructed his
attendant to take it away, while he personally helped the little child take off
his rainbow-colored mini-mecha.
“Brother, Ningning is so tired, I could die.”
The child, limped and exhausted, was held by his brother. He
was so tired that he couldn’t even lift his chubby hands.
Huo Lin, who had been practicing with him all this time,
didn’t even lose his breath. Not only was his breathing steady, but he also had
enough strength to carry the little child back.
“Don’t say such things. You won’t die.”
Huo Lin couldn’t bear to hear the child say those negative
words. He wasn’t superstitious, but subconsciously, he found those words
unpleasant.
The child, who was scolded by his brother, wasn’t the least
bit upset. On the contrary, he affectionately rubbed against his brother.
He admired his brother at the moment.
“Brother, you’re so strong!”
Once again, the little child was impressed by his brother’s
strength. He struggled to lift his chubby arms and spoke in a serious, childish
voice, “Ningning also wants to be strong like Brother!”
Huo Lin casually responded, “Sure, drink more milk, and
you’ll grow taller and stronger.”
The two of them, one big and one small, held each other like
this. After taking a short rest, Huo Lin personally bathed the little child and
changed him into clean clothes.
Zhan Xi felt relieved leaving the child in the palace.
It was like a home to the child. The attendants in the palace
also liked the sweet and cute Ningning.
Around the time when they finished dinner, Zhan Xi, who had
been busy all day, arrived at the palace to pick up the child.
Entering and exiting the palace was actually quite strict,
but Zhan Xi and Ningning relied solely on facial recognition to come and go,
receiving treatment similar to that of the imperial family.
Not long after, Zhan Xi arrived in the hall. When he
approached, Ningning was still eating.
“Ningning.”
Zhan Xi approached with a look of confusion and asked, “Did
you not have dinner?”
In front of the little child, there was a plate with a piece
of cake and a plate of fruits. Fatty, who looked like he had just taken a bath,
sat beside the little child.
Upon seeing his father, the little child happily picked up a
small piece of cake to feed him, saying, “Daddy, this is a reward for
Ningning!”
Today, the child practiced piloting the mecha and was seen by
Ludwig and Ai Wei. The emperor and empress felt that the little child had
worked too hard today, so after a while, they gave him an additional reward
after dinner.
Zhan Xi looked at the little child, who was still holding a
small fork, feeling complicated.
He lowered his head and took a bite of the cake on the fork,
then reached out to touch the little child’s belly.
It had to be said that the indulgence and spoiling of
Ningning by this family in the palace often left him, as a father, at a loss
for words.
Emperor Ludwig and Crown Prince Caesar both projected a cold
and stern image to the outside world; they didn’t seem like soft-hearted people
at all.
But when his little drama king acted weakly, holding his
bandaged hand, both the father and son would lean in to console him. Even
routine mecha training would be followed by another round of affectionate
rewards.
“Don’t worry, I checked his belly beforehand and only gave
him food when it wasn’t so round.”
Upon seeing Zhan Xi’s action, Ai Wei smiled and said to him,
“After he finishes eating, take him for a walk to help him digest.”
“Yes.”
Ai Wei also mentioned the Sixth Star to him.
Considering Zhan Xi’s economic situation, Ai Wei didn’t
directly tell him the purpose of going to the Sixth Star. Instead, she said
they were going to take Huo Lin there for mecha repairs and would take the
little child along to have some fun.
Zhan Xi readily agreed.
He also knew that the Sixth Star was a highly developed
planet, and many of the toys the little child played with came from there.
He smiled and said, “If you happen to see any interesting
toys, please buy them for Ningning. I’ll make sure to pay it back.”
Thanks for the update!! 🤩🤩
