This was a long corridor with an elevator ahead. At the end of the corridor, around the corner, there were stairs, but it was a bit far away.
There were many rental rooms along the corridor, but at this
moment, all the doors were closed.
The elevator had already reached the fifth floor, so there
was no time to run to the end.
And there was nowhere else to hide.
The man glanced sideways at the elevator, which was about to
stop, then he forcefully pushed open the door in front of him, using the hand
that held the door.
Ruan Qing was too weak to stop him, and he couldn’t stop him
either.
Because either he ignored them and let them confront Ji Yan
face-to-face, or he could only let them enter his room.
After seeing the door open, the group of people entered the
rental room. The man also considerately closed the door gently, without making
any sound.
It took less than three seconds from beginning to end, and
the elevator doors hadn’t even opened yet.
Ruan Qing glanced at the innocent faces of the few people and
then looked at Jiang Sinian, who was half-dead on the bed, and had an intuition
that things would go bad.
Ji Yan had already started to suspect him. If Ji Yan
discovered these people, he would definitely know that it was he himself who
purposely became a hostage last night.
By then, forget about these people, even he himself would be
finished.
But now was not the time to discuss these things, because
footsteps could already be heard in the corridor.
Dah.
Dah.
Dah.
The footsteps were getting closer, carrying an inexplicable
sense of oppression.
Although the players didn’t know who was coming, as they
listened to the approaching footsteps and saw the nervous expression on the
young boy’s face, they also started to feel anxious.
After all, they hadn’t forgotten that the young boy was the
current target of the horror livestream room, and the person outside the door
could be an assassin.
After confirming that the door was closed, Ruan Qing turned
around and looked at the group of people, silently gesturing for them to be
quiet.
“Hide.”
Several people understood the meaning of the young boy
immediately and quickly looked around, preparing to find a place to hide.
However, the young boy’s room was really simple.
There was a bed, a simple wardrobe, and a toilet.
It would be fine to hide one or two people, but they were
nine in total.
Even standing in this cramped rental room was a bit crowded,
let alone hiding.
The nine people each found a place to hide. Some entered the
toilet, some went under the bed, and some entered the wardrobe.
There were even four squeezed into the narrow space under the
bed.
Ruan Qing: “...”
Ruan Qing took a deep breath, telling himself to calm down.
This group of players had not encountered the killers in the
livestream room before, so underestimating them was normal.
Ji Yan’s observation and perception abilities were obviously
strong. It was impossible to hide from him in this small space.
So hiding in his room was clearly asking for trouble.
Ruan Qing didn’t care about the outside of the door anymore.
He quietly and swiftly went to the side of the bed and pulled someone out from
under it.
Then he pointed to the outside window, instructing everyone
to stand on the narrow platform outside.
After pointing outside the window, Ruan Qing also pointed to
the location of the nose and heart, silently reminding them again.
Pay attention to breathing and heartbeat.
The players were taken by surprise by the sudden turn of
events and some didn’t understand the situation. But after Ruan Qing pointed to
breathing and heartbeat, they understood and immediately ran out from the
corners of the room and silently climbed outside.
The platform outside the window was too narrow, only half a
foot wide. They could only stand sideways and even the top was narrower, only
two finger-widths wide, making it difficult to grip.
But now they had no choice.
A group of three or four players with good skills first
climbed out of the window and walked to the side, making room for others. Upon
seeing this, the rest immediately began climbing out as well.
However, it was apparent that the other players were not as
skilled as the initial group, and their speed was surprisingly slow. Meanwhile,
the knocking on the door had already started.
The remaining four players who had not yet climbed out
panicked and looked in the direction of the door.
Ruan Qing placed one hand on the doorknob but did not open
the door or respond. Seeing the four players still standing there foolishly, he
waved his hand anxiously, urging them on.
Only then did the four players increase their speed in
climbing out.
The knocking on the door resounded once again, this time with
a slightly louder volume than before.
Ruan Qing still did not open the door.
Because there were still two people who hadn’t climbed out
yet, their anxiety and confusion grew, and they struggled for a while without
successfully reaching the outside of the wall.
The knocking on the door sounded for the third time,
accompanied by a deep, forceful, and commanding voice of a man, “Open the
door.”
However, the room door remained closed, as if there was no
one inside. Ji Yan casually spoke again. “I know you’re in there.”
This time, there was finally some movement inside the room,
but the voice did not belong to Ruan Qing.
It was Su Xiaozhen, the last person who climbed out of the
window. Her foot slipped and hit the window, almost falling off.
Instantly, everyone became extremely nervous, their hearts
jumping to their throats.
Su Xiaozhen was on the verge of tears, standing by the
window, looking confusedly at Ruan Qing.
It was already too late to climb out the window again. Ruan
Qing calmly pointed under the bed, gesturing for her to hide there first.
Moreover, the voice had already been heard, and Ruan Qing
couldn’t pretend anymore that there’s no one inside the room.
He leaned against the door and spoke softly, his voice filled
with tension and unease. “It’s too late now. I... I’m already resting. If you
have something to discuss, come back tomorrow.”
Ji Yan’s slender fingers knocked on the door once again. He
said in a commanding tone, not allowing any kind of refusal, “Open the door. I
don’t have much patience. Don’t make me ask for the third time.”
Ruan Qing turned around to see that Su Xiaozhen had already
hidden herself. Finally, he sighed with relief and opened the door slightly.
His beautiful eyes remained wary, staring at Ji Yan outside the door.
Ji Yan felt pleased when he saw the obedient young boy
opening the door.
He forcefully pushed the door open and entered the young
boy’s room. However, his joy disappeared in the next second.
Ji Yan looked at the naked man on the bed. His face turned
dark, resembling a jealous husband catching his wife in bed. He grabbed Ruan
Qing’s slender wrist and his voice became extremely cold. “Who is he?”
Ruan Qing seemed frightened and shrank back in fear, his eyes
filled with moisture. “You... hurt me.”
The teenager’s voice was soft, as if he was coaxing someone,
making it hard for anyone to stay angry with him.
However, Ji Yan’s face was full of darkness, and he spoke
again. “Who is he?”
Ruan Qing saw the way he looked, as if he wanted to kill
Jiang Sinian, and immediately explained in a low voice, “I was kidnapped at the
restaurant earlier, and he saved me.”
“Is that so?” Ji Yan’s expression remained unreadable as he
stared at the person on the bed. It was difficult to tell if he believed it or
not.
Ruan Qing nodded and whispered, “He also got injured because
of me.”
Just as Ji Yan approached the bedside with an inscrutable
expression, a knock on the door interrupted them, setting everyone inside the
room and outside the walls on edge.
Both Ruan Qing and Ji Yan looked towards the door.
Just as Ruan Qing was about to go and see who it was, Ji Yan
acted faster.
He quickly glanced through the peephole at the person
outside, turned around, and swiftly jumped... under the bed...
Ruan Qing: “!!!”
