“Raphael, can you let me go out--“
“No.”
Without hesitation, Raphael rejected the request, saying,
“You cannot go outside.”
The environment outside, he couldn’t guarantee if it was
clean at all. An Nuo’s body was precious, and even staying in the palace now,
he wasn’t reassured enough.
He was trying hard to recreate the environment An Nuo used to
live in, but An Nuo’s royal family was supported by an entire nation, and all
the people genuinely respected and adored the royal family.
He had seen the information and knew to what extent the
people loved the royal family.
Now, without those people, An Nuo only had him.
Raphael was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to take care of
An Nuo properly.
“Raphael, I won’t go far. You can bring him to the palace,”
An Nuo reached out and touched Raphael’s furrowed brow.
Raphael remained silent.
Only when An Nuo withdrew his hand, wearing a displeased
expression on his face, did Raphael finally compromise, “Fine, I will bring him
to the palace.”
Although it was a bit challenging, Raphael had already made
up his mind that he would do everything possible to eliminate the germs from
the little child before An Nuo saw him.
Time passed little by little.
In Ram’s room, the little child sat on the bed, engaged in a
video call. Since the little child wanted to see everyone at once, his brother
arranged a group video call for him.
There was a communication group where all the members were
adults close to the little child.
At the moment, the little child’s purpose was to complain to
the adults, accusing the bad uncle. As he spoke, he became even more aggrieved,
saying, “The bad uncle is so annoying.”
The biggest annoyance the little child experienced here was
from the bad uncle!
Ludwig listened to the little child’s complaint, and his gaze
fell on his son behind him. “Caesar, who is the other person? Does he know your
identity?”
Huo Lin’s face tightened. “I don’t know his name. Grandpa Ram
didn’t tell me. As for whether he knows my identity, I’m not sure either.”
The other party definitely heard Grandpa Ram calling him
Caesar, but there could be more than one Caesar in this world. Perhaps the
other party didn’t associate him with the Imperial Prince.
Ludwig’s brow furrowed even more.
Obviously, he didn’t believe that an adult would have no
reaction to the name Caesar.
“Caesar, take his photo tomorrow.”
Ludwig said in a low voice, “I want to see what he looks
like.”
Huo Lin nodded.
After the child finished his complaint, he talked to the
adults one by one.
Finally, seeing that it was too late, Ai Wei ended the video.
“Let them go to sleep. They are still young, and sleep is important.”
The video ended.
The child leaned against his brother’s embrace, listening to
his brother tell stories to help him fall asleep.
“Ningning, should I wash this handkerchief for you?” Huo Lin noticed
that the child was clutching the handkerchief in his chubby hands and asked.
The handkerchief was left by that uncle and hadn’t been
washed yet, but the child was afraid it would become dirty.
“No.”
The child shook his head. He cherished the handkerchief.
“Ningning doesn’t want it to be washed.”
If it’s washed, it wouldn’t have any scent.
Huo Lin couldn’t argue with him, so he could only watch as
the child fell asleep while clutching the handkerchief. In the middle of the
night, he woke up and found the child still hadn’t let go of the handkerchief.
This night, the room was quiet and peaceful.
The next day.
When dawn was approaching, Huo Lin was awakened by a burst of
warmth. As he opened his eyes, he saw the little child ‘drawing a map’. (T/N:
wetting the bed)
Perhaps the previous night, the little child had drunk too
much water in order to “crush” the wicked uncle, and he had gotten up to use
the bathroom throughout the night. By the time it was almost dawn, he couldn’t
hold it in his dream anymore.
Huo Lin hastily picked up the little child and rushed to the
bathroom.
After the little child regained his senses, he saw his
brother holding him while attempting to change the bedsheet with one hand.
“Brother.”
The little child groggily called out. After calling out, he
looked at the bed and then at his brother. He belatedly realized something.
“Ningning wet the bed again.”
The little child pouted, receiving a blow early in the
morning.
He even found the reason for it himself: “Ningning wet the
bed in the dream.”
Huo Lin didn’t mind the little child’s drawing of the map at
all. When he saw the little guy waking up, he placed him on a chair and swiftly
removed the bedsheets.
The thick quilt under the bedsheets was slightly damp, but if
they changed the quilt, they wouldn’t have any other blanket to use.
Huo Lin hesitated and decided to wash the bedsheets first.
“Brother, Ningning will wash it by myself.”
The little child sniffled and jumped off the chair, ready to
take away the blanket from his brother’s hands. “Blanket is dirty, Ningning
will wash it myself.”
Huo Lin: “...”
Huo Lin didn’t think it was dirty at all.
The little child definitely wouldn’t be able to wash it clean
on his own. Huo Lin didn’t let go but instead took the bedsheets into the
bathroom and found a basin. In no time, he washed it clean.
The washed bedsheets were hung on the rope in the yard.
Huo Lin also started to clean the quilt, but only washed a
small section before hanging it next to the bedsheets.
The little child looked at the bedding in the yard and felt
too embarrassed to go out.
Fortunately, Huo Lin had informed Harry and Grandpa Ram in advance,
asking them not to make fun of the little child. Grandpa Ram was understanding
and came up with the excuse of “accidentally spilling a drink on the bed.”
After a morning of buffering,
The little child’s emotional state finally stabilized, and he
sat in front of Grandpa Ram again, watching him build a mech.
“Grandpa, Ningning likes mecha in rainbow colors.”
“Rainbow colors?”
Grandpa Ram was taken aback. “You mean painting the mecha in
rainbow colors?”
Grandpa Ram’s mecha style had never been fancy or colorful,
like a rainbow. If someone else made this request, he would have firmly
rejected it.
But the one making the request was his little grandson.
Grandpa Ram started to waver between principles and being
soft-hearted.
After a brief hesitation, Ram spoke up, “Rainbow colors
aren’t entirely out of the question. I’ll have Harry draw a picture for you to
see how the coloring can be done, alright?”
“Okay!”
The little child nodded happily. “Ningning has taken art
classes before!”
He knew how to color!
Harry began drawing a picture for the little child and let
him do the coloring.
Huo Lin continued studying as usual. He initially wanted to
invite the little child to study together, but seeing him playing with Harry,
he thought it over and decided not to ask.
Ram’s courtyard was usually very quiet, but recently a little
child has appeared, and from time to time, the sound of the child’s laughter
and his babbling could be heard in the courtyard.
Ram was not annoyed by these noises at all; instead, he
enjoyed them.
It’s almost noon.
Harry was about to go out to buy fresh vegetables, and the
little child insisted on going along.
When Huo Lin saw this, he also wanted to follow, but Ram
smiled and said, “It’s safe here. There are intelligent surveillance systems
everywhere. You don’t need to come along.”
The market was nearby, and Harry had been there thousands of
times before. He wouln’t get lost.
Huo Lin was still hesitant, but Ram waved and beckoned them
to come over.
Huo Lin looked at Harry and listened to the directions Harry
gave him. It’s just a turn to the left at the next alley. It’s such a short
distance that if the little child cried, he would be able to hear it.
“Harry, hold him tightly.”
Huo Lin reminded Harry, and the little child, who was being
led by Harry, was excited to go out.
A few minutes later.
The little child finally followed his brother Harry to the
market. Compared to the White Mist Star, the market here didn’t have too many people.
However, compared to other places on the Sixth Planet, this area was considered
crowded.
“Brother Harry, why is nobody smiling?”
The little child had been to the market on White Mist Star
before, where not only were there many people, but they were also very friendly
and greeted him.
The adults here had somewhat cold expressions, making the
child hesitant to greet them.
Harry didn’t need to look at these people buying vegetables;
he knew that they all had installed intelligent chips. The chips were also
graded. Higher-level chips were used by scientists and researchers, while
lower-level chips helped improve minor flaws or slightly enhance intelligence.
People who used chips tended to have a detached attitude.
Harry was accustomed to this and gently comforted the little
child before taking him to buy persimmons that occasionally appear in the
market.
“Here you go, have some.”
Harry opened a hole in the persimmon and let the little child
suck the sweet juice from inside.
It was the first time the little child had tasted a
persimmon, and his chubby face got sticky.
“It’s delicious!”
The little child pointed at the pile of persimmons, his eyes
sparkling. “Buy more, please!”
Harry smiled and agreed, “Alright, let’s buy a few more for
our lovely Ningning.”
Hand in hand, the big one and the small one walked and
quickly arrived at the innermost part of the market. The little child had been
gardening since he was young, so he was extremely curious about the vegetables
he had never seen before.
As they walked, he kept asking questions. Although it seemed
time-consuming, Harry felt that today’s vegetable shopping was the most
enjoyable.
When they reached the back of the market, Harry squatted down
and picked a bunch of greens.
After asking about the price, he deliberately asked the
little child to do the calculation. “Ningning, the price for this vegetable is
3 star coins per kilogram. We want to buy 3 kilograms. How many star coins will
it cost?”
The little child pondered and lowered his head, counting on
his fingers. He struggled with the calculation and finally blurted out, “10!”
Harry: “...”
Harry choked and felt it was unfair to trouble the little
child.
He gave 9 star coins and planned to lead the little child
away.
But before he could leave, a teenager suddenly grabbed his
arm and said, “Harry, come with me! I need to talk to you. It’s urgent!”
Harry frowned, his arm still held by the person who caught
him. “Let go of me first.”
Harry recognized the person who grabbed him.
With one hand holding the vegetables and the other hugging
the little child, he followed the familiar teenager into a small house where
other people had gathered.
They weren’t very happy upon seeing the little chubby child
in Harry’s arms. “Harry, we need to talk about something serious. I don’t think
you should bring the child with you.”
Upon hearing this, Harry turned his head and walked away
while holding the child.
“Wait, don’t leave in such a hurry. We didn’t say you can’t
bring the child for sure.” Harry’s friends pulled him again, trying to keep him
there.
Out of respect for his friends, Harry finally didn’t turn
away, but he urged them, “If you have something to say, say it quickly. I still
need to go back and make lunch.”
“Harry, we’re planning to do something big.”
Someone in the small room informed him, “Just going for a
protest won’t affect the chip plan at all. More and more people are being
deceived by the chip plan. If we don’t do something soon, the chip plan will
bring disastrous consequences to our Sixth Planet.”
Harry: “...”
Harry himself was indeed a conservative, but he was a silent
conservative. Being pulled by these people to talk about such matters made his
eyelids twitch, and he realized something was amiss.
“What do you want to do?”
“We want to do something great, something that will change
history!”
The person who spoke earlier had a tone as if giving a
speech, with ups and downs in their voice. “Harry, I sincerely invite you to
join us and be a part of this great endeavor!”
Upon hearing this, Harry immediately declined three times.
“No, thanks. I can’t do it. I need to go home and cook.”
Although Harry didn’t continue listening, he already knew without
hearing more that these people must have come up with some new forms of
protest, something more innovative than marches and demonstrations.
He wasn’t interested in such behavior.
With this time, he would rather play with Ningning. Ningning
couldn’t stay with them for long, and he didn’t know when they would meet
again. He had to cherish this time.
At that moment, Harry only thought that these people were
going to engage in a new activity. He never would have imagined that their
subsequent actions would bring such terrible consequences.
If he had known in advance, he would have never been so
indifferent.
He would have done everything in his power to stop these
people.
Thank you very much!♡♡♡♡
