However, Ruan Qing stopped him. Ruan Qing turned his head
slightly and reminded him, “Your phone is ringing.”
“Perhaps there’s something important.”
Su Zhiwei’s body emitted a cold aura as he took out his phone
and directly declined the call. However, the ringing persisted, as if there was
indeed something important.
Su Zhiwei released Ruan Qing and answered the call with an
annoyed tone, “You better have a good reason.”
Ruan Qing was not sure what was said on the other end of the
phone, but Su Zhiwei’s expression slightly changed. “I’ll come right away.”
Su Zhiwei hung up the phone and gently kissed Ruan Qing’s
hand. “I’m sorry, why don’t you rest in the office for a while? I have a
meeting I need to attend.”
After Su Zhiwei finished speaking, he left the office with
the documents, leaving Ruan Qing alone in the end.
Ruan Qing breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the other
leave.
It was now lunchtime, and Ruan Qing was afraid of running
into Song Yu again, so he quietly stayed in Su Zhiwei’s office, closing his
eyes to rest for a while.
This was the fourth day, and more than a few people had
already died. Once they reached the later stages of the instance, it would
undoubtedly become more dangerous. Ruan Qing, like the other players, didn’t
want to waste time on attending classes.
The fifth day might be a deadline. The first five days might
not be too dangerous, providing players with time and opportunities to
investigate. But once today was over, it would be hard to predict what would
happen.
As time passed, the restrictions on the monster would
certainly decrease. What they feared the most was the monster in the exam
hall... coming out.
If they couldn’t find the answers before the monster in the
exam hall came out, it would probably be the worst-case scenario.
Perhaps everyone would truly die in this instance.
Dying in this instance... It would be better to die in the
previous instance. At least he could somewhat be considered human. The worst
that could happen was being killed or killing others.
However, this instance was completely different. Just the
thought of having to work with those monsters as a “colleague”, Ruan Qing felt
a tingling sensation on his scalp.
He absolutely could not die here!
He must leave this instance before the monsters come out.
Fortunately, his character was a school bully who did as he
pleased. It didn’t matter whether he attended classes or not. So Ruan Qing
waited until halfway through the class time before leaving Su Zhiwei’s office.
After all, it wasn’t convenient to do anything with so many
students around.
Ruan Qing thought about going to the archives to search for
clues, whether it was the transfer student or Song Yu, having the surname Song
was most likely not a coincidence.
There might be some kind of connection between the two.
Because Ruan Qing had been staying in Su Zhiwei’s office, he
didn’t know that someone was going to jump off the building.
However, it was probably an unfortunate timing for his
choice. Just as Ruan Qing walked out of the teaching building, a figure
plummeted straight down in front of him.
Less than half a meter away from him, even blood splattered
onto his body.
The incident happened too suddenly, without any warning. Ruan
Qing stood frozen in place. His face, which was splattered with a few traces of
blood, appeared somewhat dazed. There was even a trace of confusion in his
beautiful eyes.
It seemed like he hadn’t fully realized what had just
happened.
Ruan Qing stared blankly at the ground in front of him, where
a person lay motionless within half a meter.
What caught his eye was a horrifying sight of red, as blood
stained the ground beneath the person.
The person seemed to still be alive. His eyes were wide open,
as if unwilling to close, staring fixedly at Ruan Qing.
However, his body was already twisted and deformed, in a
manner that couldn’t possibly be alive, yet he stubbornly refused to close his
eyes.
The hollow gaze seemed to carry a strong sense of resentment
and bitterness, even inexplicably giving rise to a feeling of ominousness and
danger, as if it wanted to drag Ruan Qing into hell.
Furthermore, it seemed as if that person knew Ruan Qing was
looking at him. The corners of his mouth lifted into an eerie smile. His lips
moved as if he was saying something, yet it felt like a mere illusion.
Although the sunlight was shining on him, it failed to bring
any warmth, instead creating an immensely chilling sensation.
Ruan Qing appeared to be stunned, standing motionless in
place. There was a trace of vulnerability on his face, fragile to the point that
it was impossible not to feel pity for him. His usual arrogant and domineering
demeanor dissipated to some extent.
The bloodstains on his face contrasted with his fair skin,
giving him a seductive and splendid appearance. However, the layer of mist in
his eyes added a touch of brokenness, making one unable to resist the urge to
mistreat him further, to make him fall from grace.
To drag him... into hell.
“Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!!!”
“Ah! He really jumped off the building!!!”
“Ah! Ah! Ah! Someone’s dead!!!”
The onlookers were students who had just finished their
physical education class. Almost everyone present was frightened at the moment
when the figure fell. After realizing what had happened, screams erupted
uncontrollably. Some even screamed and frantically pushed each other backward.
Instantly, the space near the body was cleared, leaving only
Ruan Qing standing foolishly in place.
After all, he was the closest one. Song Yu practically fell
right in front of him, so close that he could even hear the sound of Song Yu’s
bones shattering upon impact with the ground.
If Ruan Qing had walked a bit faster just now, Song Yu would
probably have landed directly on him.
Then the one who died... would have been him.
The onlookers never thought that Song Yu would jump off the
building because he had been standing on the rooftop for quite a while without
taking any action.
Yet now, he suddenly jumped, without any warning, and landed
right in front of them, creating such a horrifying scene.
Normally, someone jumping off a building wouldn’t be so
terrifying, but this person’s body twisted while his head remained upright,
staring fixedly in a certain direction.
The direction was towards Ruan Qing.
Everyone who witnessed this scene felt their hair standing on
end, and an involuntary wave of fear surged within their hearts.
Whether it was an illusion or not, everyone felt as if the
surrounding air had dropped by several degrees, causing an inexplicable chill
despite it being the middle of summer.
It was terrifying!!!
This was the most frightening nightmare of the year.
Even those who had a strong mentality and were just
spectating couldn’t help but feel a strong sense of discomfort, a tingling
sensation all over their bodies, accompanied by nausea and disgust.
Some individuals even vomited.
As soon as the players arrived, they saw a person lying in a
pool of blood on the ground, realizing that they had arrived too late.
Song Yu... was dead.
He had jumped off the building without any warning, as if it
was a suicide.
But the players didn’t believe that Song Yu had committed
suicide by jumping off. When they were observing from a distance, they
distinctly saw another hand reaching out from the rooftop.
Moreover, Song Yu had been bullied before, and there was no
sign of any suicidal thoughts. He was actively attending classes every day, and
just a moment ago, he was concerned about the ink stains on his clothes.
It was highly possible that... he was pushed.
The players looked towards the boy opposite the corpse,
filled with suspicion.
After all, the boy had collided with Song Yu earlier in the
morning, making him the most likely person to have killed him.
However, in the next moment, everyone dismissed the boy as a
suspect.
Because the boy seemed to have been scared out of his wits,
and when he finally reacted, his face turned pale. He stumbled backward in
panic, but accidentally bumped into the steps behind him, causing him to fall
onto the ground.
The teenager at this moment did not have his usual arrogance
and conceit on his face, nor did he exhibit his usual dismissive attitude.
Instead, he was trembling slightly, his eyes showing a hint of redness at the
corners, a mist forming in his gaze. His delicate face turned pale, and he
appeared extremely fragile and helpless, evoking a sense of profound pity.
However, this pitiful appearance failed to elicit sympathy or
compassion from the people present. Instead, it aroused a sense of sadistic
pleasure, a stronger desire to... defile the teenager.
To see him display a more pleasing expression.
After all, the sight of the teenager crying... was truly
beautiful, even tempting one to adorn him with vibrant colors and make him cry
even harder.
Clearly, he couldn’t have been acting out this fear.
Moreover, his position was quite precarious. It was Song Yu who had fallen in
front of him. If he had been a bit faster, it would be him writhing distortedly
on the ground now.
It would be more accurate to say that he was a victim rather
than a culprit.
Perhaps someone had intended to kill both him and Song Yu
simultaneously, but because he was slower, he narrowly escaped being crushed to
death.
Someone had already called the police. The body on the ground
still had its eyes wide open, staring at Ruan Qing with a lifeless and eerie
gaze.
Tears filled Ruan Qing’s eyes, his long eyelashes trembling
with the tears. He wanted to stand up and escape, but he couldn’t manage to do
so.
Ruan Qing had seen people die in front of him before, and he
had witnessed lifeless eyes that refused to close. Although it was frightening
to have someone fall so close to him, it hadn’t scared him to the point of
losing his mind.
Instead, after the person fell, Ruan Qing had a strong
intuition that something was approaching him. Initially, he thought it was just
his imagination, but the dropping temperature all around him was not a figment
of his imagination.
There was even a chilling presence circulating near him, an
eerie sensation that seemed to cling to him like maggots on a bone, causing his
whole body’s cells to scream at him to flee.
That’s why Ruan Qing tried to step back and evade, but there
were steps behind him, and his feet collided with them, causing him to fall on
the ground. And that thing... also reached his side.
An icy cold breath instantly enveloped him, as if wrapping
him up completely.
Then there was an unusually cold and eerie sensation
lingering on his feet, slowly creeping up his calves. The chilling temperature
pushed Ruan Qing’s fear and terror to its peak, causing his heart to
uncontrollably beat faster.
If he could deceive himself before, now there was something
right in front of him, and it was already... self-evident.
Ruan Qing’s tears couldn’t be held back any longer, streaming
down his cheeks like scattered pearls with broken threads, dropping one by one.
The cold breath followed him like a shadow, continuing to
move up his legs.
Ruan Qing wanted to struggle, but extreme fear made his body
go weak, unable to muster any strength. He could only helplessly attempt to
retract his foot.
However, that cold force left him no room to struggle. It was
as if it wanted to drag him into hell.
Ruan Qing’s long eyelashes trembled slightly, tears continued
to flow, and his slender figure was filled with fragility and helplessness.
Yet, not a single person present noticed anything strange.
In their eyes, Ruan Qing was just scared because he narrowly
avoided being hit. Perhaps he was too frightened and exhausted, trying to crawl
up from the ground due to his pride. But without any strength, he struggled for
a long time without being able to stand up.
In the end, as if he had exhausted all his energy, he gave
up. He sat there, his beautiful eyes filled with mist, emanating an aura of
helplessness and pity.
This teenager’s posture was extremely pitiable, making one
wish to hold him in their arms and soothe him, not allowing him to endure any
grievances outside of the bed.
Damn they all thirsty 💀
