Although the cabinet was quite dark, it was still daytime,
and there were small cracks through which some light could penetrate. So, after
adapting to the darkness, one could vaguely make out the images inside the
cabinet.
The water dripping on Ruan Qing’s face seemed somewhat
sticky. Definitely not like water, but more like... blood.
Upon considering a certain possibility, Ruan Qing’s
expression instantly froze, and his body stiffened, standing still in place.
His delicate little face almost lost all its color.
Seeing this, the player in front of him sneered and said,
“Heh, what’s wrong? Did I hit the mark?”
Ruan Qing didn’t hear what he said, or perhaps he did but
didn’t pay any attention. His body remained rigid, and he bit down on his lower
lip tightly. After a few seconds, he slowly lifted his head.
A bizarre and contorted figure was crawling on top of the
dark cabinet. Although the figure was climbing on the top of the cabinet, his
head was facing them, as if it had turned one hundred and eighty degrees.
Moreover, the face that was once been handsome and refined
was now bearing a strange smile, completely destroying its previous beauty. It
looked as if he had fallen from the rooftop and landed on the ground, twisted
and terrifying.
Unlike his clean and pale face, his body was covered in
bloodstains, dripping down steadily, giving a ghastly appearance.
As Ruan Qing saw this clearly, his eyes widened instantly,
pupils shrinking, and his body trembled uncontrollably. His mind went
completely blank.
It’s... Song Yu.
He... caught up with them.
This horrifying scene caused Ruan Qing’s heart to skip a
beat, then race faster. In an instant, he broke free from the hypnotic state he
had set up after entering the instance. All the hypnosis he had put on himself
inside the instance unraveled, leaving him unable to deceive himself any
longer.
The ghosts in the mirror, the ghosts in the examination room.
Song Yu was a ghost.
This instance was filled with ghosts everywhere.
Fear and terror surged through his brain, tears quickly
filling his eyes, and they began to fall uncontrollably, like pearls falling
off a broken string, wetting his long eyelashes and moistening his cheeks.
He looked pitiful beyond measure.
However, it seemed like the others hadn’t noticed at all,
their attention still fixed on the ghosts outside the cabinet.
The player who was hugging Ruan Qing couldn’t see the
bloodstains on Ruan Qing’s face because it was too dark. He looked at the
seemingly pitiful teenager, who appeared to be crying due to his sarcastic
words. A glimmer of slyness flashed in his eyes as he tightened his grip around
the teenager’s waist, his face filled with mockery. He continued in a low
voice, “Crying like a pitiful pear blossom.”
“Is this also one of your ways to seduce men?”
Players in the instance might be limited in their view and
not able to see clearly what’s happening due to restrictions. However, it’s
different for the audience in the livestream. They could clearly see what’s
going on inside the cabinet.
As a result, the audience in the livestream watched numbly as
one of the advanced players discreetly touched the waist of the teenager while
inside the cabinet. Strangely, the advanced player’s facial expression appeared
very serious, as if it was just an accidental touch.
...if it weren’t for the fact that his hand slipped into the
teenager’s clothes, it might seem more believable.
And the other advanced player was even more extreme, claiming
that the teenager seduced him.
Seduced him...
Seduced... him...
Where on earth did he get that confidence!?
They had only just met for less than half an hour ago, barely
knew each other, and the teenager had no idea if he’s a powerful player or not.
Even if he misunderstood others, he wouldn’t make them so embarrassed.
After all, in this horror game, players did use charm to gain
advantages, so misunderstandings were understandable.
The audience in the livestream could understand that too.
But the problem was, the teenager was just an NPC in the
game! He probably didn’t even know what an instance was, let alone who’s a
powerful player or not. There’s not even a need for him to clear the instance, so
there’s also no need for him to try to gain advantages.
Moreover, they grabbed him as soon as they encountered him,
even jostling him, and touching him inappropriately inside the cabinet. And now
this guy saying some extremely absurd things...
In the teenager’s mind, this group of people was clearly a
bunch of perverts kidnapping him! Didn’t he have any rights in their eyes?
Seduction, what seduction? If this were in the real world, he would have
reported them to the police and had them arrested! They might even think they
have mental issues!
Originally, the audience was frightened when the ghost
appeared on the cabinet. However, due to the perverted actions of one player
and the overly confident remarks of another, the atmosphere quickly turned
awkward.
[My big shot, stop talking! Please, my toes are almost
digging a castle. I need a break for my toes.]
[Help! I used to think God Mu was just confident. Given his
strength, he has the right to be confident. But I never expected him to be such
a delusional person! What is he thinking? He can turn a simple touch into him
being seduced! The teenager was obviously trying to hide from that other
perverted guy behind him!]
[The pervert is talking about you! Yes, you! Stop pretending!
We all saw it! Take your hand out of the teenager’s clothes!]
[I hope these two ‘advanced players’ can livestream their own
reactions when they watch the replay. I want to see how they will look then.]
[Unbelievable! Four different styles inside the cabinet - one
pervert, one delusional guy, one innocent NPC being harassed, and only one
player experiencing the horror normally.]
[Please, I beg you two ‘advanced players,’ stop fixating on
the teenager! Look up above you! The boy is so scared that he’s crying, and
you’re still here trying to seduce him. I’m starting to feel embarrassed for
you.]
The twisted figure above them stared straight at the people
below. When Ruan Qing looked up and met its gaze, it cracked a horrifying
smile, with more blood dripping from its body.
Even the others in the cabinet noticed it now, looking up to
see the blood-stained face directly above them.
The blood obscured the ghostly face, making it hard to
discern its features. But it was fixated on them, with eyes full of desire and
greed, as if it wanted to devour them completely.
It even began reaching out towards them, as if it wanted to
twist their heads off directly, sending shivers down their spines.
Ruan Qing’s face turned pale as fear overwhelmed him, leaving
his mind blank. He no longer cared about anything else and instinctively pushed
the man in front of him with all his strength, then pushed open the cabinet
door to escape.
Others had the same idea as Ruan Qing - the cabinet was too
narrow, and there was no way out. They decided it would be better to push the
cabinet open and jump out from the window side.
So, no one cared about the noise the cabinet made when being
pushed open, attracting the attention of the ghosts in the hallway.
After pushing open the cabinet, the group of people saw a
twisted and almost disintegrating figure standing in the blind spot of the
cabinet gap, staring greedily and intently at the cabinet.
The footsteps they heard earlier... were fake; they had been
deceived!!!
Or perhaps... there was more than one ghost that entered the
classroom, but only one remained.
Most of the ghosts were wearing old student uniforms, except
for one that seemed to be a teacher.
Standing beside the cabinet was that teacher with a distorted
body, as if it had been dismembered and stitched back together. Its whole body
was covered in blood, and the opening of the cabinet seemed to excite the
flowing blood even more, forming a sizable puddle on the floor.
Moreover, the blood on the ground was slowly creeping, as if
it had a life of its own, spreading towards the inside of the cabinet,
instilling an inexplicable fear in everyone.
Terrifying, eerie, and horrifying.
As Ruan Qing opened the cabinet door, he was confronted with
this horrifying sight. His eyes widened in fear, and his beautiful pupils were
filled with terror. He instantly froze, and his heart seemed to stop, causing
him to faint the next moment.
Due to Ruan Qing’s initial attempt to rush out, even if he
lost his strength, he couldn’t stop himself from leaning forward, falling
straight towards the front of the cabinet.
And in front of the cabinet was the twisted figure.
If no one came to save him, he would collapse right in front
of that twisted figure.
Seeing Ruan Qing falling, the twisted figure immediately
stretched out its withered hand, as if it wanted to drag the teenager over and
devour him.
It was incredibly spine-chilling.
The ghost was blocking the cabinet’s exit, making it
difficult for the players to rush out. If the ghost managed to drag the
teenager over, it would actually buy them some time.
They wouldn’t even need to waste any items; they could just
rush to the window, shatter the glass, and jump out. This would allow them to
shake off the ghost without using any special tools.
As the male player who previously accused Ruan Qing of
seducing him saw the teenager collapse, he instinctively caught him before he
fell into the grasp of the twisted figure. Then, he quickly took out a piece of
talisman paper and threw it directly at the figure, forcing it to retreat.
However, because the figure was apparently eager to grab the
teenager, it didn’t avoid the talisman paper in time and was caught directly by
it.
Once the talisman paper stuck to the figure, flames erupted
from the lower left corner, engulfing the entire talisman. The figure’s
expression instantly became grim, and its body trembled for a few moments. Then
it seemed unable to move, standing stiffly in place, staring fixedly at the people
inside the cabinet.
When the talisman paper burned out, Mu Ye’an finally realized
what he had done. He glanced at the ashes of the talisman, picked up the
teenager, and rushed towards the window.
The other two people in the cabinet wasted no time and also
rushed to the window.
This action seemed to anger the twisted figure, causing more
blood to seep from its body and its hair to become stained with blood, making
its face even more horrifying.
The figure seemed temporarily immobilized due to the talisman.
It was facing the cabinet before the group ran to the window. After the group
arrived at the window, its head twisted towards them, almost making a
180-degree turn, locking its gaze on them.
The resentment and malevolence in its eyes seemed almost
tangible, as if it could tear them apart in the next second.
Despite the sun still shining, this scene sent shivers down
their spines.
The ghost on top of the cabinet did not show itself; it
seemed to be afraid of being noticed by the teacher. Instead, it hid in the gap
of the cabinet, with only a pair of crimson eyes glaring directly at the figure
of the teenager.
As the group shattered the window, the twisted figure finally
managed to break free from the restraint of the talisman and could move
slightly, but it was too late to stop them from jumping out of the window. Its
body was still immobilized.
In an instant, the figure’s hair became incredibly tough and
infinitely elongated, quickly stabbing towards the player who was holding Ruan
Qing.
One of the nearby players reacted, pupils shrinking, and
instinctively shouted, “Be careful!!!”
However, Mu Ye’an, who was carrying Ruan Qing, remained calm
and didn’t turn back. He took a casual step to the left, tilting his head to
avoid the attack of the elongated hair, then decisively jumped out of the
second-floor window, still holding Ruan Qing in his arms.
The other players also jumped down one after another,
realizing that the commotion would surely attract the ghosts nearby, making the
classroom unsafe. They decided it would be better to lead the ghosts away first
and then find an opportunity to return and investigate the archives.
The height of the second floor was not too high, and it
didn’t have a significant impact on Mu Ye’an even while carrying someone. He
jumped down gracefully, landing safely on the ground with an elegant posture,
despite the force of the fall.
Although they had successfully jumped down, they didn’t waste
any time and immediately started running.
The ghost was now able to move again.
The ghost on the second floor, just like the players, jumped
down without hesitation. However, its body was too fragile, and it
disintegrated into a pile of flesh upon impact, which looked horrifying even in
broad daylight.
Despite the gruesome sight, the ghost was not dead; the pile
of flesh began to squirm and slowly reassemble itself, as if it were stitching
its body back together.
The scene was incredibly terrifying, causing those witnessing
it to shudder in fear.
The people present recognized the talisman paper that Mu
Ye’an had used. It was an intermediate restraint-type item, capable of
imprisoning the ghost for only five seconds.
Just five seconds...
And this was not even the main boss of the instance; it
seemed to be just a minor boss.
This indicated how terrifying the main boss truly was. A
single intermediate talisman could not even restrain it for three seconds.
Encountering the main boss meant there was no chance of fighting back, only
running away.
However, running away for seven days was obviously not
realistic. They couldn’t keep going without rest, let alone with the ghosts
pursuing them.
The difficulty of this instance was much higher than any of
the players had imagined. Engaging the ghosts head-on was clearly not a viable
option, as that would be suicidal.
Even if it was an advanced instance, there might not be a way
out. They now had to find that glimmer of hope—something that could restrain
the ghost or fulfill its obsession, in order to survive.
What disgusting behaviour (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ thankyou for the chapter!! 🤍
