The sky had already darkened completely, and the entire space
carried a chilling and oppressive feeling, making it difficult for people to
breathe.
The entire space was filled with a sense of danger and fear.
As Ruan Qing’s summoning array beneath him rapidly
fluctuated, the wall at the back of the classroom began to crack. In the blink
of an eye, a crack spread across the entire wall in an unstoppable manner.
Though not completely shattered, some parts of the wall
started to crumble, revealing strands of dazzling light. It appeared to be a
bright white light, but it seemed to have a black mist lingering within.
The black mist emanated from the cracked wall, evoking an
uncontrollable sense of fear from the depths of one’s heart.
It’s as if facing the whole universe, catching a glimpse of
some terrifying existence right in front of them.
Everything became insignificant and powerless.
Enormous, mysterious, unknown, and fearful.
It even rendered one unable to muster any resistance, as if
any effort would be as futile as a mantis trying to stop a cart.
It was... a ‘deity’ responding to the summoning!
Song Yan still resided within the body of the male student
from before. He seemed to have sensed something and looked at Su Zhiwei with a
distorted expression, his voice carrying a sharp edge. “Brother! He’s about to
awaken!!!”
“He’s responding to the summoning!!!”
“He’s waking up!”
In truth, even without Song Yan speaking, everyone present
knew that the situation was definitely abnormal.
But a few people didn’t quite understand the meaning behind
these words. They were unsure who he’s referring to.
However, Su Zhiwei understood the moment he saw the wall
cracking. He no longer cared about pursuing Song Yu and immediately leaped onto
the table. He produced several talismans and swiftly threw them toward the
cracking wall. Then he bit his finger, drawing a formation in the air using his
own blood.
After completing the formation, it immediately merged into
the wall, seemingly adding a protective layer to it and slightly controlling
the speed of its cracking.
Although the walls were still cracking, the speed had slowed
down considerably, preventing an instant rupture.
Song Yan also attempted to control the spreading black mist
in the air and pushed it back into the mirror.
No one knew better than the Song family the consequences of
summoning the ‘deity’. Song Yu stared at the teenager in the center of the
formation and abandoned any thoughts of escaping. Instead, his eyes widened
and, in the next second, instantly appeared beside the summoning formation,
attempting to pull Ruan Qing out from within.
At this moment, the two brothers of the Song family were
working hard to seal the black mist inside the mirror, while the ghost of Song
Yu tried to take Ruan Qing out of the summoning formation. There was no longer
an atmosphere of wanting to kill each other as before.
Only a few players still seem unsure of the situation,
especially Fang Qingyuan, who was part of the second wave to enter the
instance. He looked puzzled at the scene before him. Although he sensed
something was wrong, he remained bewildered.
After dealing with the ghost teacher earlier, they split into
two groups: one searching for clues in the instance and the other searching for
Ruan Qing. However, for some unknown reason, the space had been divided, even
in the same location. It’s as if they were existing in parallel dimensions,
unable to see or interfere with each other.
As time passed, the spatial divisions became more frequent,
making it hard to predict where the next one would occur. Perhaps, with good
luck, they might not encounter any danger. But with bad luck, they could run
into Song Yu or Song Yan.
Due to the issue of spatial division, they had been scattered
and separated.
Currently, only three players were present: Pei Yan, Fang
Qingyuan, and one player who entered the instance later and wasn’t particularly
noticeable. The other players were nowhere to be found.
Unlike the confusion of the other two, Pei Yan frowned as he
looked at the cracked walls.
He found the notebook in the corner of the classroom of Class
1-1. He instinctively knew that the notebook must be important, so he read it
multiple times and memorized the summoning formation mentioned in it.
In fact, he had tried the summoning formation before, right
here in the classroom of Class 1-1. However, he received no response, just like
what was written on the last page of the notebook.
He had thought he couldn’t summon anything because there was
something wrong with the formation, but now it seemed... the teenager
succeeded?
The audience in the livestream room was stunned. They had
been watching Pei Yan ever since he entered the instance, so they naturally
knew that Pei Yan had also performed a summoning.
[Folks! I don’t understand! Why would an NPC receive a
response from a ‘deity’!?]
[Could it be that this ‘deity’ judges based on appearance?
The problem is, our God Pei is not ugly! (Stunned.JPG)]
[To be honest, I don’t quite understand this instance. It
feels like it hasn’t even started, yet it has already progressed to the point
of summoning a deity.]
[It’s normal not to understand; the instance hasn’t even
reached its halfway mark. Based on previous experiences, instances usually
start to unfold around that point! But this instance was not following the
usual pattern; it directly fast-forwarded to the ending!]
Many viewers who were not present at the scene heard about
the situation and immediately switched to Pei Yan’s or Fang Qingyuan’s
livestream rooms. They found discussions in the barrage.
[You think that’s something? At least you came in early and
knew something. Our streamer entered the instance in the afternoon and not long
after, unfortunately, encountered Boss Song Yu. After barely escaping, in the
evening, this side is summoning a deity, while he’s still over there bewildered
and clueless.]
[Help! Our streamer is the same. He’s scared of encountering
Song Yu or the ghost in the mirror.]
[This ‘deity’ doesn’t seem to be anything good. If the
summoning succeeds, maybe everyone will die in the instance. I guess if our
streamer dies, he won’t even know how he died.]
Many viewers in the livestream room agreed. There were no
benevolent beings among the bosses in horror games.
Either they were fallen gods, pseudo-gods, or outright evil
gods.
In any case, if the summoning was truly successful, there
wouldn’t be a good outcome.
The ominous black mist already foretold everything.
The three players also understood this, so they did not try
to stop it. Instead, they had to stand with the three men from the Song family
and prevent the ‘deity’ from awakening.
After the speed at which the wall cracked was controlled, Su
Zhiwei and Song Yan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
However, Song Yu’s expression was extremely grim. He had
originally wanted to drag the teenager out, but he couldn’t even get inside the
summoning array.
Su Zhiwei, after briefly sealing the wall, also looked
towards the teenager in the summoning array.
Ruan Qing’s current condition was extremely poor. Losing a
significant amount of blood made him dizzy and lightheaded, and he felt even
colder.
He curled up on the ground, his body trembling slightly, his
face as pale as paper, and his life force rapidly fading away.
He could probably hold on for at most another half an hour.
Perhaps he had overestimated himself; his body temperature
was dropping much faster than before.
He might only remain conscious for... less than ten minutes.
Fortunately, ten minutes would be enough for Ruan Qing.
The faces of the three men from the Song family were very
grim. They couldn’t even hold on for five minutes, let alone ten.
Because all they did was slow down the awakening speed of the
‘deity’. Once the ‘deity’ woke up, it would be time for the summoner to pay the
price with their soul.
Now the summoning array had truly been activated, and if they
wanted to prevent the ‘deity’ from awakening, the only option was to disrupt
the summoning.
They had less than five minutes to do it.
If they couldn’t destroy the summoning ritual within five
minutes, the ‘deity’ would undoubtedly awaken.
And the summoner would... die.
Because the core of the summoning array was, in fact,
sacrificing souls to carry out the summoning. Success in the summoning meant
death, with the ‘deity’ fulfilling the summoner’s wishes before that.
The three members of the Su family looked at the person lying
in the center of the array, trying countless methods, but they couldn’t bring
him out of the array.
Even Pei Yan and Fang Qingyuan, who were nearby, attempted to
help and rescue Ruan Qing.
The situation that had just been “either you die or I perish”
had instantly turned into an effort to save Ruan Qing and disrupt the summoning
ritual.
Only Mo Ran and Xiao Shiyi stood by, watching coldly, without
offering assistance or stopping them.
Time passed by second by second, and the recently sealed
walls began to crack open again. The entire wall became shaky and on the verge
of collapse. It was only thanks to Su Zhiwei’s hastily reinforced formation
that it didn’t shatter completely.
Yet, they still hadn’t found a way to rescue Ruan Qing.
For 13 years, Song Yan had been trapped inside the mirror,
and he had long been assimilated with the eerie black mist. He could now
control and use the black mist, even sensing the current state of the ‘deity’
and understanding its... intentions.
A trace of fear appeared in Song Yan’s eyes as he spoke in a
hushed and trembling voice, as though murmuring to himself, “It’s awakening,
it... it wants him...”
“It wants him...”
“Who does it want?” Song Yu coldly turned to look at Song
Yan, no longer caring about the other’s previous attempt to kill him when he
was weak.
Song Yan remained silent, his expression obscure as he looked
towards the teenager in the summoning formation.
Evidently, the ‘deity’ desired... Su Qing.
Ruan Qing also heard these words, and his heart sank, but he
kept his gaze lowered, showing no signs of surprise.
Mo Ran and Xiao Shiyi, who had been uninvolved bystanders,
had their faces change instantly.
As the ones who summoned the ‘deity’, they naturally weren’t
afraid of being killed by it. However, they couldn’t tolerate the ‘deity’
desiring the teenager.
The sheer power of the black mist was already immensely formidable,
giving them a glimpse of how strong its master must be. If the teenager fell
into the hands of anyone else, they might have a chance to retrieve him. But if
he fell into the hands of the ‘deity’...
They might spend their entire lives trying to get him back,
or they might never even catch a glimpse of him again.
Even if they united their strengths, they probably wouldn’t
stand the slightest chance against the ‘deity’.
The ‘deity’ must not awaken, but now they were unable to halt
its steps towards awakening.
Once the summoning formation was truly activated, there were
only two ways to stop it.
Either the summoner would die, or the ‘deity’ itself chose
not to respond.
Now, it’s evident that the ‘deity’ had started to awaken,
leaving only one path to take.
The summoner... must die.
As long as the summoner died, the summoning ritual would
eventually come to a halt.
It’s challenging to bring the summoner out of the formation
before the ritual was complete, but someone who had a contract with him, like
Song Yu, could easily kill him.
Woah woah from saving him to wanting him dead? So many plot twists 😵💫 not a single one of em is sane! Thankyou for the updates with an 's'~
