Ning Su reached out his hand because he wanted to give him this flower.
He tidied up his appearance because he wanted to welcome his sacred flower in the best way possible.
Ning Changfeng was taken aback by his solemn demeanor.
At this moment, he deeply felt the sincerity of Ning Su’s faith.
Far surpassing his own.
He really couldn’t understand how the other did it; he thought his level of faith was already quite high.
It was something he had achieved from the beginning by self-hypnosis, by using the bloodline inheritance skill to forcefully break down the overpowering self-consciousness.
“Why are you so devout in your faith in the Flower God?”
Devotion was something he found hard to comprehend; he was simply curious.
Ning Su said, “Do you know what matters most to someone who grew up without parents?”
Ning Changfeng didn’t know why he was asking such a question seriously. “Food, companionship, protection, and the like, I suppose.”
The young man spoke words he didn’t understand. “He provided me with all of those.”
For some reason, Ning Su’s memories were clearer than those of ordinary people. At the age of two, he already had clear memories.
At the age of two, most toddlers had just learned to walk.
At the age of two, he had already been kicked out of his first foster home.
He survived by relying on the lily flowers from the back mountain.
If every year in the past had one vivid image in his memory, then at the age of two, he was a little boy covered in scratches, sitting alone on the deep green vines, stuffing blood-red flower petals into his mouth.
During his childhood, whenever he had nothing to eat, he would eat the blood-red flowers.
It was the lily flowers that kept him alive.
It was the lily flowers that kept him company.
At times, the lily flowers gave him a sense of security.
Because he always knew he wouldn’t starve, at least there were lily flowers to eat.
Sometimes, with his stomach growling and exhausted, he would come to the side of the lily flowers and stuff the petals into his mouth.
Other times, when he was covered in wounds and lost in despair, he would find solace by the lily flowers and sleep on the vines.
When he went to school, he carried a bag of lily flowers, never worrying about not having money to eat outside.
He chose biology as his major in college because of this miraculous lily flower.
As the apocalypse approached, he thought he would die. But when he woke up lying on the lily flowers at the edge of a cliff, he saw a four-petal blood flower in front of him. That’s when he truly awakened his dark, supernatural powers.
He was expelled from the survivors’ base, and when he turned into a zombie, he knew it was because of this ability. He didn’t rot and didn’t lose his human consciousness; he became a zombie that knew how to bite.
From the age of two that he could remember, to entering this game, his life was inseparable from the lily flowers.
Originally, he had no obsession.
Until he encountered the lily flowers repeatedly in this bizarre game.
From the birth of the lily flower when Snowball died, to absorbing the resentment of monster children in the ancient castle, and then to this world, once again, grabbing a four-petal blood flower from the Dark Swamp.
Ning Su seemed to understand why, in the original reality, only he could find the lily flower, and why no one ever told him the flower was called ‘Lingxiao’, but he knew that was its name at the age of two.
This was a flower beyond reality, with a soul and consciousness.
When he found the Lingxiao in the Dark Swamp, saw the statue in front of the Flower God’s temple, and understood the rules of this world, when he knew that Lingxiao was a god he might meet.
He, like an obsession, wanted to meet Him.
Perhaps it was the power of belief in this world, perhaps it was the love gu insect in his body, or perhaps this was the obsession he had hidden in his heart since he was two-years-old.
Now that he had already touched the possibility of meeting Him, he couldn’t give up.
Ning Su: “Let’s begin. You can open my chest a bit wider for easier planting.”
Ning Changfeng was not a procrastinating person; he knew why he was here. Without wasting time, he said, “Okay.”
He pulled open the young man’s shirt without hesitation for a second and directly stabbed the knife into the young man’s chest.
In that moment, he hesitated. He looked up at Ning Su, only to find Ning Su watching him.
Unexpectedly, the young man said to him, “If you wear a mask and cover the lower half of your face, it will be better.”
The tip of the knife paused, and Ning Changfeng felt an inexplicable panic, as if something was about to burst from deep within.
When he lowered his head, the knife had already cut open the young man’s chest.
He glanced at it only once, and his eyes began to tear up.
Inside the young man’s slender body were lifeless organs, black veins, nothing that a normal human should have intact.
Ning Su asked, “Is my heart black?”
Ning Changfeng nodded stiffly.
For the first time in his life, his fingers trembled. He couldn’t understand why he felt so uncomfortable and why his eyes were stinging when he saw this scene.
Seeing the black veins inside the young man, the blood inside him roared.
When the black blood flowed onto his fingers, he felt the surge of his own blood.
Ning Su couldn’t control himself as he raised his head. On his pale face, those eyes tried to see Ning Changfeng’s actions clearly.
Luckily, it was Ning Changfeng; he thought.
He repeated to himself over and over.
Luckily, it was Ning Changfeng who cut open his heart. If it were Zhu Shuangshuang or Su Wangsheng, they wouldn’t have been able to do it.
A crack appeared in his heart, and he saw Ning Changfeng placing the four-petal flower into his heart.
That heart, shrouded in a layer of black aura, began to beat more and more violently.
Ning Su couldn’t hear any other sounds; he only heard the sound of his heartbeat ringing in his ears.
“Bang!”
“Bang bang!”
“Bang bang bang!”
“Bang!————”

“Gui Sheng younger brother.”
In the bustling street, two children stood hand in hand on the side.
The little boy looked up at the little girl. “Huh?”
“Mom left us some food. We already ate half of it just now, so we’re going to get some more.”
Gui Sheng: “Food, find a bowl.”
The little girl tucked her hair behind her right ear. Despite her young age, she had a striking appearance, with a mysterious charm that a girl her age shouldn’t have, like a mandragora growing in the underworld.
She didn’t stand out in her position, but she had already attracted the attention of many people.
There were curious passersby, flower shop owners calculating in secret, and men with impure intentions.
“Little sweetheart.” A man squatted in front of her, showing an excited smile. “No food to eat? Come with big brother; big brother has something delicious for you.”
In the big eyes of the little girl, there were faint red dots hidden in the depths of her black pupils. She smiled slightly at the corner of her mouth. “Okay, thank you, big brother.”
She held the hand of the little boy and sweetly asked, “Big brother, can I bring my little brother too?”
The man didn’t pay much attention to the little boy, only staring at her eagerly. “Of course, quickly come with big brother! Big brother can’t wait to take you home and feed you.”
As he stood up, he didn’t notice the sweet smile gradually turning eerie and cold at the corner of the little girl’s mouth.
Gui Sheng: “Huh?”
Just as he lifted his foot to leave, the ground suddenly trembled.
