Jia Chensheng said, “Yes, the problem lies here.”
“Ning Su and the Holy Maiden had a dispute. As the Ghost Master, the Holy Maiden claimed to have seen the Flower God, but Ning Su insisted that she hadn’t. Ning Su raised a god that she herself didn’t know about, so it seems this isn’t the god from her world.”
The players contemplated this issue in silence.
Noticing that they hadn’t eaten for a while, Ning Su said, “Don’t think that all Ghost Masters can control the instance world.”
He glanced at the Gui Sheng beside him as he spoke.
Zhu Shuangshuang and Su Wangsheng, who had also been in ‘Ghost Animal’ dungeon, also looked at Gui Sheng simultaneously.
Gui Sheng, who was gnawing on a large chicken leg, raised his head. “Huh?”
Zhu Shuangshuang: “Su Su is right; some Ghost Masters might be leading a miserable life.”
Perhaps dressed in tatters, living in a small warehouse that turned to a slaughterhouse.
Su Wangsheng: “Yes.”
Perhaps hungry enough to nibble on someone’s fingernails at midnight.
“?”
What were you guys talking about?
Were you talking about a Ghost Master?
Gui Sheng continued to gnaw on the chicken leg, his incomplete little hand holding the large leg, happiness on his face, revealing a touch of bitterness to those who watched.
This instance was difficult to discuss; they could only clarify the story background and provide a reference for future players entering the instance.
Because, for instances that required players to find answers, it’s impossible for things to remain fixed.
Two main quests: find the real way to see the god and meet the true god.
If the theoretical method before didn’t change, just entering the instance and submitting the answer would be a success.
So, they only completed the background story and recorded that someone did indeed raise a god, and the main process of offering support came to an end.
Jia Chensheng, as the president of a large guild, had always been busy, especially these days.
Just after finishing his meal, he said, “Sorry, the guild and individual competitions for this quarter are about to begin, so I’m very busy these days. I won’t be able to personally take you around the guild later; feel free to explore on your own.”
Ning Su, Zhu Shuangshuang, and Su Wangsheng were still newcomers and didn’t know much about the guild and individual competitions.
Zhu Shuangshuang asked, “I heard it’s shown in public? How is it made public?”
Jia Chensheng explained, “It’s a competition that happened inside an instance. During the game, you can watch it in the game hall or in your personal system. You can choose the perspective of any participating player and even participate in discussions.”
“Wow.” Zhu Shuangshuang said eagerly, “Isn’t that exciting and lively?”
Jia Chensheng chuckled, “Yes, that’s the liveliest time at the base. Moreover, during that half-month, the restriction on players that they should enter the instance world once a week is temporarily lifted. All players can participate or just watch the excitement.”
The game base often had a tense atmosphere of horror and despair, but the competition period was the only exception. During matches, one could enjoy the show without worrying about death.
He advised the three of them, “I also suggest you sign up for the individual competition. The point rewards for competition instances are higher than regular ones, and the chances of dropping items and weapons are also higher. Players who perform well may receive specific rewards.”
Zhu Shuangshuang and Su Wangsheng immediately nodded.
Ning Su remained silent.
After Jia Chensheng left, Zhu Shuangshuang asked Ning Su, “Su Su, are you participating?”
Ning Su shook his head. “I probably won’t participate.”
9277 always emphasized that he should keep a low profile, stay ordinary.
In public competitions, what might be exposed wasn’t just players’ faces and skillful weapons. What if they revealed his “——” data, especially the 0.1 life value?
Well, that would be a bit awkward.
Ning Su found an excuse. “With my family in tow, it’s better not to engage in fights and killings.”
“...”
Were you really dragging your family along? Were you dragging ghosts and demons?
Zhu Shuangshuang looked at Ning Changfeng again, “Senior Ning, you should participate. Looking forward to Senior Ning’s spectacular performance in dominating the scene.”
Ning Su also looked at Ning Changfeng, blinked, and said, “I wonder who will take first place between you and President Shi this season.”
Ning Changfeng: “...”
“I’m not participating,” he said with a stiff face.
If only he could avoid participating.
But the top ten players from the previous season had to participate.
Jia Chensheng told them to wander around casually. Su Wangsheng, who hadn’t joined a guild yet, accompanied by Zhu Shuangshuang, who had already joined, went to explore and understand the guild.
In the instance, Jia Chensheng had once sent a guild invitation to Su Wangsheng.
Fang Qi also followed because he knew that the Hongyu Guild controlled the most information, and he hadn’t given up on finding that person.
Ning Su had no interest in this guild, so he went out with Ning Changfeng and the two kids.
On the way, he asked Ning Changfeng, who had been silent during the discussion, “What do you think of the last question Jia Chensheng raised?”
Jia Chensheng mentioned that the Ghost Master, Holy Maiden, might not have completely controlled the dungeon world.
Ning Changfeng said, “I have vaguely sensed something in several high-level instances.”
Ning Changfeng, a lone ranger and the top-ranked player, possessed a powerful bloodline inheritance, allowing him to explore places that ordinary players could not reach. This gave him some discoveries unknown to ordinary people, things he hadn’t shared with others.
He could tell his son without any concealment.
“In this game world, we are controlled by the system, and the Ghost Master, Divive Master, and Demon Master can also determine our life and death. Outside of these two forces, there may be another power.”
Ning Su pondered for a moment, “Outside the instances, the system completely controls us. In the instance world, the system and the Ghost Master seem to be equal. So, what about this power you mentioned?”
“Is it weaker than them, superior to them, or is it one of them?”
Ning Changfeng asked, “Why do you say it could possibly belong to one of them?”
He had just mentioned that it was outside these two forces.
Ning Su couldn’t answer Ning Changfeng accurately. When he heard Ning Changfeng talk about another force, he immediately thought of the Lingxiao Flower.
When Snowball died, the Lingxiao Flower grew, and Snowball became a fierce Ghost Master.
Similarly, when the Holy Maiden died, Lingxiao flower appeared, and she gained tremendous power, becoming a Ghost Master in an instance world.
The Holy Maiden subconsciously regarded the Lingxiao Flower as the Flower God. In places where the Ghost Master did not control, the appearance was a four-petal Lingxiao Flower.
There was also what Ah Fei said about meeting ‘Dad’.
Ah Fei, in <Manman>, wore a Lingxiao Flower earring and a small skirt with Lingxiao vines embroidered on the hem.
When Ning Su asked her about the “Dad” she mentioned, she couldn’t explain clearly, only saying that it was a presence similar to a father god.
Considering all this, Ning Su felt that the power Ning Changfeng mentioned was related to the Lingxiao Flower.
And the Ghost Masters had a close connection with the Lingxiao Flower; their power might partially come from it.
Ning Su didn’t say this, and Ning Changfeng didn’t press further on the matter. He asked, “Are we going back soon?”
“Yeah,” Ning Su said, “I’ll go to the Yinhua Guild first.”
Ning Changfeng: “...”
Ever since he learned that Ning Su might be the child of him and Shi Tianzhu, he felt uncomfortable whenever he heard anything related to Shi Tianzhu.
“Why would you go to the Yinhua Guild?”
Ning Su glanced at him and said, “President Shi has been very kind to me. She gave me two items in the last instance.”
“She has a powerful subordinate in a certain instance, a black-robed guy, who died. It might be related to me.”
A chapter ago I literally thought it would be cool if dungeons were live streamed and now the author has granted my wish
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there's other danmei that do this. Necromancer Survival does this and so does Welcome to the Nightmare Live. The latter actually seems pretty similar to this novel in terms of how the ML is treated. Maybe?
