Qiao Nuo never expected someone to come to his rescue.
He stared blankly at the figure standing in front of him, and his heart skipped a beat, then began to beat rapidly.
The sound was so loud that he could hear it.
An inexplicable emotion surged within him.
Qiao Nuo couldn’t distinguish what emotion it was, perhaps happiness for surviving, or perhaps happiness because someone came to save him.
Covering his chest that was beating uncontrollably, Qiao Nuo’s eyes held confusion and puzzlement.
Why did this person come to save him?
Clearly, he had sensed hostility from this man before.
Apparently, the man found him annoying, and he, in turn, found the man annoying for some unknown reason as well.
If he could escape, he wouldn’t have handed Xia Qing over to him.
But now, the disgust had disappeared, replaced by a strange feeling, strange enough to leave Qiao Nuo bewildered.
Because the person in front of him felt similar to Xia Qing.
Xia Qing?
Qiao Nuo stared at the man’s back, eyes widened, pupils slightly contracted, suddenly thinking of a certain possibility.
He studied the arts of Dao, naturally in opposition to ghosts, so he was very familiar with them.
When a person suddenly changes their feeling and aura in the ghost domain, there’s usually only one possibility.
A ghost had possessed them.
...Could it be that Xia Qing died, and then possessed this man?
Qiao Nuo’s heart skipped a beat, a pang of pain and regret almost engulfing him completely.
It made him struggle to breathe.
He regretted giving Xia Qing to a completely unfamiliar man.
He thought that man would protect him, but he didn’t expect to be the one who sent him to his death.
Xia Qing, who loved crying so much, must be crying miserably now.
Qiao Nuo clenched the hand holding the red gem, exerting force. His head once again couldn’t control the pain, and a hint of agony appeared on his handsome face.
In the past, he could still forcefully endure this headache, but now, due to the severe injuries he sustained, Qiao Nuo passed out directly.
Ruan Qing didn’t know what Qiao Nuo was thinking, nor did he have time to check Qiao Nuo’s condition. After blocking the yin energy, he pulled up Qiao Nuo from the ground and quickly distanced himself from the red shadow.
Without hesitation, Ruan Qing ran away with Qiao Nuo. While running, Ruan Qing also quickly glanced at the third floor of the nearby teaching building.
There was a figure standing there, but it immediately disappeared when he looked over.
But Ruan Qing still saw it; it was Shen Yu’an.
The red shadow seemed to have no reaction. ‘He’ froze when a trace of blood splattered onto ‘him’. Even when the figures of Ruan Qing and Qiao Nuo disappeared into the darkness, ‘he’ did not intervene.
Strange.
Too strange.
That was supposed to be ‘his’ heart.
But it felt like the breath of his beloved young man.
The red shadow touched the position of ‘his’ heart, but there was no beating.
However, there was a hint of fear lingering within.
‘He’ was afraid.
Afraid that the recent attack would harm the young man.
After fear came anger and resentment, so intense that it was on the verge of losing control, and the surrounding yin energy became even more frightening.
Almost on the brink of losing control.
‘He’ was afraid that his beloved young man would risk his life to block the attack for another man, even if that man was ‘his’ own remnant soul.
The bones of ‘his’ corpse were tampered with, and ‘he’ couldn’t integrate ‘his’ own remnant soul.
Those remnants already had their own consciousness; they were ‘him,’ yet not ‘him.’
‘He’ had to retrieve the heart to integrate all the remnants.
But ‘his’ heart... seemed to be the heart of his beloved young man?
Could it be that ‘his’ instant infatuation with the young man was because he was originally ‘his’ heart?
Was it the attraction from the heart that drew ‘him’?
Did ‘he’ fall in love with the heart?
The figure was completely plunged into confusion, looking up at the dim and lightless sky.
In fact, there would never be daylight again.
The ghost domain was sealed off by ‘him,’ and those within the ghost domain could no longer hope to leave.
‘His’ heart also couldn’t leave the ghost domain.
As long as he was within ‘his’ ghost domain, ‘he’ would eventually find the heart.
But now that the search had been successful, ‘he’ hesitated.
Did ‘he’ really want to take the heart back?
In this ghost domain, death would only result in becoming a ghost.
So even if ‘he’ retrieved ‘his’ own heart, as long as ‘he’ didn’t merge with the remnant soul of the young man, the young man could still exist independently.
But taking the heart directly would hurt the young man, right?
The young man was so delicate; even a little grievance would make him cry inarticulately.
Not to mention having his heart dug out.
And did ‘he’ really love the young man? Or was it just the attraction from ‘his’ heart?
The figure was somewhat confused.
‘He’ retracted his gaze, and the figure became somewhat transparent, eventually disappearing from the original spot.
Along with the entire dreadful ghost domain vanishing, revealing the bustling and peaceful appearance of the First University.
The sky instantly changed from night to day.
The sun had appeared on the horizon, casting its light, dispelling the slight chill.
Everyone only now realized that the time was not around 5 in the morning, but almost 8 in the morning.
Time in the ghost domain turned out to be false, and this time, the ghost domain disappeared at 8 AM.
Would it not disappear... next time?
The surviving players, after checking the time, look at each other in horror.
Ruan Qing also didn’t expect the time discrepancy. He found an empty corner, made sure no one was around, and then set down Qiao Nuo.
Continuing from Ruan Qing’s fingertips, the image of that book appeared, and a familiar white light suddenly lit up.
The audience in the live stream room was directly stunned.
[Isn’t this God Mu’s healing technique!? How did he get it!? Can he still possess the owner’s skills after taking over the body? I’ve never heard of such a thing.]
[No, he healed using this book; obviously, it’s not a skill, but the effect is exactly the same as God Mu’s.]
[I now doubt God Mu has any skills at all; he most likely relies on this book for healing.]
Players with skills in the infinite horror game were extremely rare, and they were usually obtained through some kind of extraordinary encounter.
These skills belong to the player themselves, and not only could they not be taken away, but even if someone possessed their body, the one possessing still couldn’t use these skills.
Like Su Zhen’s puppet silk, that was his skill, not an item. Even if someone forcibly took over his body, they absolutely could not use his puppet silk.
However, Qi Muran’s healing technique obviously didn’t follow this situation.
[So, this guy deceived me for three years??? I really thought he was weak and needed protection. I genuinely worried for him every time, and turns out he’s strong as hell?]
[Thinking back to several black screens in the live stream room, could it be God Mu himself doing it? Just to prevent us from noticing anything abnormal??? Damn, he always acted like he was innocent, too despicable!]
[I always thought God Mu was naïve, didn’t expect the naïve one was me.]
qi muran rly js deceived everyone for 3 years.
