The girl, seeing the man strangling someone, instinctively glanced sideways towards the top of the shelf, following his gaze.
She happened to see the young man gesturing on the shelf.
The girl was slightly stunned; it was the young man who reminded her to run into the supermarket.
Tears, which she had been holding back for a long time, suddenly streamed down her face. She felt both happy and grateful, with a hint of grievance mixed in.
It was as if she had been strong for too long and suddenly saw her loving parents.
The girl didn’t know what had come over her. She wiped away her tears, eager to express her gratitude to the young man.
But she didn’t know sign language.
In the end, the girl made a heart gesture to the young man, expressing her gratitude.
Ruan Qing didn’t see it because his attention was focused on the next person.
The shelves and darkness provided the best cover, even the fleeting light became an aid.
Because it meant this group of people couldn’t adapt to the darkness.
Ruan Qing not only adapted to the darkness but was also positioned on the shelf, able to see clearly what was happening below.
Coupled with his calculations and analysis, along with Xie Xuanlan’s cooperation, he directly reversed the situation.
The supermarket was neither large nor small; there would always be someone in another’s blind spot, and someone would always walk into a blind spot.
That would be the best time to strike.
The people in the supermarket were dwindling, to the point where someone finally noticed something was wrong.
A thin and anxious man looked around nervously, then swallowed hard and said with a trembling voice, “Are... are there... many of us missing?”
Far from just many, there were originally twelve people, but now there were only four left.
Eight were directly missing.
Yet none of them noticed anything unusual.
They were indeed ruthless people, but even the most ruthless couldn’t face death calmly.
Especially when it seemed to be happening inexplicably.
Yet they dared not go out.
Because before finding the person, going out would definitely get them killed by that lunatic.
You should know that the lunatic never cared about the reason for killing, nor did he listen to explanations. Once he’s displeased, he would directly act.
He wouldn’t even give the other party a chance to speak.
Several people could only continue searching with gritted teeth, but this time, they dared not separate again.
It’s much safer to stick together.
Ruan Qing frowned slightly. Indeed, it would be difficult to find an opportunity if they walked together.
Because the distance was too close, it was hard not to alert the person next to them.
Xie Xuanlan also furrowed his brows. He could indeed kill four people instantly without making a sound.
But that would definitely involve bloodshed.
Bloodshed would alert Yan San, the lunatic, and then his position would be exposed.
He wasn’t alone now, so he had to be cautious.
Xie Xuanlan looked at Ruan Qing on the shelf.
Ruan Qing rapidly analyzed the movements and routes of those people, as well as the layout of the supermarket, and then gestured to Xie Xuanlan using sign language.
— Find a mirror.
Find a mirr...or?
The supermarket was a general merchandise store where most daily necessities could be found, including mirrors, naturally.
But they weren’t particularly large mirrors, just some cosmetic mirrors.
The largest one was only about the size of a piece of paper.
After finding the mirror, Xie Xuanlan looked at Ruan Qing.
Ruan Qing pointed to the largest mirror, held up three fingers, then gestured quickly in the direction where the four people were advancing, indicating his plan.
Xie Xuanlan understood. The young man wanted him to place three mirrors in specific positions.
Although Xie Xuanlan didn’t know what the mirrors were for, he still followed the young man’s instructions and placed the mirrors.
Then he stood in the position designated by the young man, waiting.
The four men were moving very slowly, and their flashlight beams were all pointing in different directions, remaining vigilant all around.
They were afraid that someone might suddenly appear from any direction and kill them.
After all, those missing people were probably in grave danger by now.
But since they hadn’t found anyone or any bodies, they didn’t dare to alert the men outside.
The four of them could only grit their teeth and continue searching. Fortunately, no one else went missing after they started searching together.
However, they remained vigilant, keeping a close eye on their surroundings as they searched.
As they turned a corner, the person in front suddenly shone their flashlight onto a mirror.
The reflection made them instinctively close their eyes.
So they didn’t notice that the light from the mirror had bounced onto another mirror on a nearby shelf, causing the person on their left to also close their eyes.
Even the person on their right did the same.
And in the instant when the three closed their eyes, the person at the back and the one on the right had their necks grabbed, disappearing between the shelves the next second.
Not a single sound was made throughout.
Even the two with closed eyes didn’t notice the presence of others at first.
Dealing with four people was difficult, but dealing with two was much easier.
After Xie Xuanlan dealt with the two, he quickly took care of the remaining two.
Ruan Qing had been wondering how to deal with the remaining three when he saw Xie Xuanlan dispose of all four at once.
Ruan Qing let out a sigh of relief, only to realize that half of his body had gone numb from holding himself up.
It was uncomfortable to move at all.
He could only slowly lean against the shelf.
Just as Xie Xuanlan was about to return to the shelf, footsteps could be heard outside.
Someone was coming in.
The footsteps were unhurried, carrying a hint of casualness and laziness.
Even before seeing the person, Ruan Qing knew it was the man named Yan San.
His body, which had just relaxed, tensed up again.
After hearing the footsteps, Xie Xuanlan stopped walking towards the young man and instantly leaped onto a nearby shelf, propping himself up.
Ruan Qing dared not show his head again.
After all, the danger posed by this man was completely different from that of the group just now and could not be easily dealt with.
Fortunately, there was only one man, and as long as they hid well, he would never find them.
However, what Ruan Qing didn’t expect was that the man didn’t have any intention of searching for them one by one.
Upon entering, Yan San didn’t look for anyone, casually kicking the nearby shelves.
The shelves, which should have been sturdy, collapsed straight down with just one kick from Yan San.
As if made of paper.
The items on the shelves fell to the ground, with many of them shattering directly, but Yan San didn’t care at all, continuing to kick the next shelf.
Even the shelves next to the wall were easily pulled down by Yan San.
And as the shelves continued to fall, Yan San got closer and closer to them.
In the end, several ordinary people were all discovered.
Yan San saw them and showed a cheerful smile. “Good evening.”
His tone was very friendly, even with a hint of a smile.
However, the next second after he finished speaking, he aimed the gun in his hand directly at one of the people.
The girl widened her eyes at the sight, instinctively protecting her boyfriend in front of her.
The girl’s boyfriend was probably stunned, standing still, letting the girl block him.
Yan San didn’t care who the gun was aimed at, speaking in a pleasant tone, “Captain Xie, come out.”
However, in response to Yan San, there was only silence and the cries of the people in front of him.
Ruan Qing lowered his eyes, hesitating, biting his thumb’s nail.
Seeing no one coming out, Yan San laughed and then directly pressed the trigger, saying, “If you don’t come out, I’ll start shooting with the gun.”
Perhaps Yan San’s pressing the trigger stimulated the girl’s boyfriend. He trembled, his voice shaking as he cried out, “No! No! I don’t want to die!”
“I know where they are. Please spare me.”
The girl widened her eyes at his words, turning around to try to cover the man’s mouth.
But it was too late.
The man had already pointed to where Ruan Qing was. "He’s there, he’s hiding there!"
I love your translations and the story. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteok i understand not wanting to die, but still that lil snitch-_-
ReplyDeleteI understand why he did that but seriously? After he saved your life you snitch on him. And its so obvious that the guy isn't gonna spare you, he's just gonna kill you after he gets what he wants. He doesn't care about the lives of his subordinates, so why would he care about yours? I get why he did it but its such a dumb and ungrateful move
