Yan San’s gaze fell on Ruan Qing’s pale pink lips, and the next moment he released his hand from Ruan Qing’s cheek, his fingers sliding down a bit.
They stopped at the corner of Ruan Qing’s mouth.
Xie Xuanlan’s face had already darkened; he spoke coldly, his tone carrying a warning, “Yan San!”
“Captain Xie hasn’t left yet?” Yan San turned his head slightly, casting a fleeting glance at him. “Is there anything else?”
Xie Xuanlan’s eyes darkened, even carrying a hint of killing intent as he looked at Yan San. “Give him back to me.”
“Not likely.” Yan San’s response was very decisive and straightforward. “I like him.”
“He’s mine now.”
Yan San then looked at Xie Xuanlan again, speaking calmly, “Besides, he’s not your possession, Captain Xie. How can you say ‘give him back’?”
After finishing his words, Yan San once again rubbed the young man in his arms, his expression very pleased.
As if a child had obtained something they dearly loved.
Xie Xuanlan clenched his fists, his nails almost digging into his flesh. He looked at the audacious man with an unusually cold tone, “Yan San, don’t push it too far. Do you know who he is?”
Xie Xuanlan spoke slowly, emphasizing each word. “He’s your brother’s lover. Your brother entrusted him to me before he passed away.”
Ruan Qing paused at the words but didn’t expose Xie Xuanlan’s lie.
But indeed, these two were brothers.
Yan San tilted his head after Xie Xuanlan finished speaking, his tone full of doubt. “My brother?”
Yan San thought for a moment, then after a few seconds, a look of sudden realization crossed his face.
He remembered.
Before he was apprehended, he had indeed heard that his brother had fallen for a male college student and often went to the school to accompany the young man to class.
Yan San had heard about his brother and that young man’s situation, and at the time, he had scoffed at it.
Fond of him? His brother must have been fond of that young man’s money.
It was truly shameful, resorting to being a money-grubbing gigolo.
If it weren’t for growing up together and his brother helping him escape, he wouldn’t even want to acknowledge that was his brother.
But Yan San didn’t think that way now; the young man was so adorable, and he liked him too.
However, he wouldn’t be as tactless as his brother, spending the money of the person he liked. Instead, he would only work hard to earn money to spend on the person he liked.
Yan San reached out and grabbed the slender hand of the young man, gently playing with his pretty fingers, then joyfully spoke, “So you’re my sister-in-law. What a coincidence.”
“Our family is rather special. Usually, it’s the younger brother who inherits everything from the older brother, including his wife.”
Yan San liked the term “wife”; the more he said it, the happier he seemed, and anyone could hear his delight.
There was not the slightest hint of sadness over his brother’s death.
“Now that my brother is dead, naturally, his wife becomes mine.”
Yan San was completely talking nonsense, and everyone present could see it, especially Xie Xuanlan.
Yan Ci and Yan San were both orphans, with no real family ties.
Moreover, Yan Ci and Yan San were free spirits. If there were really such rules, they would have abolished them long ago.
Obviously, Yan San didn’t want to let go.
And Xie Xuanlan had no intention of leaving either, and the situation was instantly deadlocked.
Whether it was Xie Xuanlan or Yan San, they were both secretly wary of each other, as they had been dealing with each other for a long time and were well aware of each other’s strengths.
However, although neither of them moved, the atmosphere between them was extremely dangerous and oppressive, making people dare not breathe.
It was like the calm before the storm.
The few ordinary people who had been found earlier were initially very afraid, but when they saw that Yan San’s attention was not on them at all, they quietly moved back.
Then they disappeared without a trace.
The girl’s boyfriend wanted to run away with her, but she pushed him away expressionlessly.
Seeing this, the boyfriend hesitated for a moment, then turned around and ran with the others without looking back.
The girl didn’t even glance at her fleeing boyfriend. From the moment he was afraid of dying to when he exposed the young man’s position, he became her ex-boyfriend.
The girl knew how her ex-boyfriend had found out about the young man’s position.
It was because she had exposed him with a heart gesture.
Just a moment ago, her ex-boyfriend couldn’t see the young man on the top of the shelf; it was his blind spot, but he could clearly see her position.
The girl regretted her actions immensely. If she hadn’t made that unnecessary heart gesture, she wouldn’t have exposed the young man’s position.
The girl bit her lower lip tightly, and in the next moment, her gaze turned resolute as she looked toward a spot not far away.
She knew there’s a corpse hidden there.
And that corpse had a gun.
The girl glanced at the young man’s back and silently moved toward that spot.
Perhaps because everyone’s attention was not on her, the girl successfully retrieved the gun.
Because Yan San and Ruan Qing both had their backs turned to the girl, they did not witness this scene.
But Xie Xuanlan did.
He slightly loosened his clenched fist, his muscles tensing up, ready to snatch someone at any moment.
Directly firing the gun would definitely alert Yan San, so Xie Xuanlan rushed toward Yan San just before the gun went off.
Yan San, seeing Xie Xuanlan move, held the young man and prepared to act.
However, the next moment, a “bang!” sounded from the gun. Yan San’s movements slightly froze, subconsciously looking toward his own heart.
The gunshot came from behind him. The bloodstains on his back had already blurred his consciousness, but there were no bloodstains in front of him.
Because the bullet was lodged in his body.
Taking advantage of Yan San’s momentary hesitation, Xie Xuanlan had already rushed to his front and directly snatched the young man from his embrace.
Yan San, whether due to being hit by the gun or not reacting in time, stood still and did not move.
So Xie Xuanlan easily pulled Ruan Qing out of Yan San’s embrace, quickly held Ruan Qing horizontally, and then ran toward the door.
Without any pause, without any decrease in speed.
Even though the girl hit Yan San’s heart with the gunshot.
And Ruan Qing, upon realizing that Xie Xuanlan hadn’t slowed down, realized something was wrong.
Because Xie Xuanlan didn’t relax, and because Yan San didn’t fall.
The bullet hit Yan San’s heart. If an ordinary person was shot in the heart, they would have died long ago.
Even if they didn’t die, they wouldn’t be able to stand.
But Yan San’s expression didn’t change, and even the bloodstains on his body were mysteriously decreasing.
As if the blood that had been spilled had returned to his body.
Ruan Qing, seeing that Xie Xuanlan had no intention of stopping, panicked and pulled out the rope he had used to tie people from Xie Xuanlan’s pocket, and fiercely threw it at the girl who was still trembling holding the gun.
Ruan Qing urgently called out, “Hold on!”
aww i really like that girl. in this situation, i can understand her ex-boyfriend kind of, but i like that she actually made a move to help instead of just feeling sorry.
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! Dealing with a psycho that even men fear to face and getting rid of an untrustworthy boyfriend in the way (I get why he did that, but was a jerk move anyway)
