Between his delicate eyebrows, there was a hint of reluctance and sadness, making him appear extremely fragile and powerless.
It seemed as though he’s mourning for having caused someone’s death.
Jiang Shuyu saw it through the rearview mirror and opened her mouth, looking like she wanted to say something, but hesitated.
She thought the young man regretted it.
After all, indirectly causing the death of a living person was something ordinary people couldn’t bear.
This was the end of the world, with no laws or morals.
Only by abandoning their humanity could one survive better.
Jiang Shuyu clearly realized this point. Not only did the young man indirectly kill someone, but she also did.
She was even the one who truly acted decisively.
But if it wasn’t that man who died, it would’ve been them.
Jiang Shuyu couldn’t find any words to comfort the young man, so she could only quietly drive and wait for him to come to terms with it himself.
For a while, the car was extremely quiet.
In fact, Ruan Qing wasn’t worried about Ning Wang.
Ning Wang is at least an acquaintance of Su Zhen, a high-level player who doesn’t care much about the 400,000 points.
Such a person wouldn’t easily die in a dungeon.
Ruan Qing was worried about Xie Xuanlan.
He had just seen Yan Ci and Yan San, but he didn’t see Xie Xuanlan.
Had... had he already died?
Ruan Qing’s eyelashes trembled slightly. The strength of Yan San and Yan Ci was somewhat outrageous; very few people could survive from their hands.
It seemed there’s hardly any suspense about what happened to the other.
In fact, Ruan Qing had many ways to shake off that player. That player had the same problem as other high-level players: powerful and confident.
Such people were actually very conceited, and their minds weren’t very sharp.
But he still chose the most dangerous method.
To bring someone back.
He just wanted to see if they could rescue Xie Xuanlan.
Unfortunately, it seemed they were a bit late.
After staring at the roof of the car for more than ten seconds, Ruan Qing tilted his head back and looked quietly out the window.
It’s unclear what he’s thinking.
After a few seconds, Ruan Qing’s pupils contracted slightly, his eyes widened, and the next moment, he urgently said, “Stop the car.”
Jiang Shuyu was startled by his words and subconsciously looked in the rearview mirror, only to see Ruan Qing had already opened the car door.
As if he was about to jump out.
Actually, the car hadn’t gone far from the factory yet, probably less than a kilometer away, and it would be easy to be caught up by Yan Ci and Yan San.
Stopping the car here was definitely not a wise move.
But Jiang Shuyu didn’t care about that anymore. After Ruan Qing opened the door, she was so scared that she immediately slammed on the brakes and stopped the car.
As soon as the car stopped, Ruan Qing got out of the car immediately, limping towards a nearby tree at his fastest speed.
But even his fastest wasn’t that fast.
Jiang Shuyu also quickly got out of the car and immediately caught up with Ruan Qing.
As soon as Jiang Shuyu walked over, she understood why Ruan Qing wanted to stop the car, because there was a man sitting under the big tree, leaning against the trunk.
It was Xie Xuanlan.
Xie Xuanlan’s eyes were tightly closed at this moment, his whole body stained with blood, especially his chest, which was almost soaked with blood, looking extremely alarming.
Moreover, his chest was not moving at all, making it uncertain whether he was alive or not.
This wasn’t the most serious part; the most serious part was the wound around his waist, which was already starting to turn black.
That was a symptom of being infected with the zombie virus.
In other words, even if Xie Xuanlan didn’t die, he would still turn into a zombie.
Due to his foot injury, Ruan Qing wouldn’t be able to stand firmly if he bent over, so he directly slowly squatted down, kneeling on the ground without caring about getting dirty.
Then he reached out his hand and gently placed it on Xie Xuanlan’s wrist.
Although it was weak, there was still a pulse.
After feeling the pulse on the wrist, Ruan Qing breathed a sigh of relief and prepared to check the wound on Xie Xuanlan’s heart.
However, as soon as he reached out to Xie Xuanlan’s side, his hand was firmly grabbed by someone.
Ruan Qing was startled and looked up at Xie Xuanlan.
He didn’t know when Xie Xuanlan, who had been unconscious, had already opened his eyes, still with a hint of hostility and killing intent in them.
Xie Xuanlan’s grip was strong, causing Ruan Qing’s fingers to ache, but Ruan Qing didn’t struggle, just quietly looking at him.
When Xie Xuanlan saw that the person in front of him was Ruan Qing, he was directly stunned, as if he couldn’t quite come back to his senses.
It seemed as though he thought he was dreaming.
Xie Xuanlan subconsciously tried to get closer to the person in front of him.
However, he was too seriously injured; even getting up was difficult. He barely managed to sit up a little before falling back again.
But even as Xie Xuanlan fell back, he didn’t let go of Ruan Qing’s hand, as if afraid that if he let go, the person in front of him would disappear.
Ruan Qing, who was already unsteady on his feet, was suddenly pulled by Xie Xuanlan, causing his eyes to widen, and he uncontrollably fell onto the other.
Xie Xuanlan’s deep eyes instantly half-closed, his brows furrowed tightly, biting his lower lip without making any sound.
It hurt a lot, but besides the pain, there was also a hint of pleasure in his mind.
At least it proved that all of this wasn’t his illusion.
The person in front of him was real.
Ruan Qing fell onto Xie Xuanlan’s body and refrained from struggling.
Because if he struggled, he might exacerbate Xie Xuanlan’s injury.
Ruan Qing gently reached out, wanting to prop himself up, but Xie Xuanlan didn’t let go.
Ruan Qing pursed his lips and spoke softly, “Let go.”
Xie Xuanlan didn’t release his grip, even reaching out with his other hand to stroke Ruan Qing’s head, pressing him into his embrace, then weakly said, “...I might... be dying.”
Although Xie Xuanlan’s voice was weak, it was very calm, as if just stating a fact.
But upon closer listening, it carried a hint of indescribable emotion, making it feel very uncomfortable to hear.
In fact, Xie Xuanlan was anything but calm; he was actually very unwilling.
Unwilling to die like this.
Unwilling that nothing had happened between him and the young man.
Unwilling not to become the most important person to the young man.
Unwilling not to have the envisioned future with the young man.
But his unwillingness seemed futile.
He no longer had the ability to continue living as a human.
After hearing Xie Xuanlan’s words, Ruan Qing lowered his gaze slightly, his expression somewhat indiscernible.
He didn’t speak, nor did he struggle.
Because the person was in his arms, Xie Xuanlan could clearly hear Ruan Qing’s heartbeat, as if it was beating for him.
Xie Xuanlan held Ruan Qing quietly, his eyes downcast, filled with reluctance and tenderness as he looked into Ruan Qing’s eyes.
The two embraced under the big tree, with the gentle breeze blowing softly, making the whole world seem like a mere backdrop.
As if time stood still for eternity.
Noooooo not him!!! Please don't die
ReplyDeleteanybody but him please :(( im so happy that ruan qing cares so much about him too cuz hes my absolute favorite PLS DONT DIEEE
ReplyDeleteHmmm~ Since the Pen spirit instance, there seems to be one "ML" there that seems to be deviating from the usual "Obsessed to the point of madness" when jt comes to Ruan Qing.
ReplyDeleteI mean... they're still obsessed but they're more restrained with their desires and were more focused on protecting Ruan.
