Ruan Qing was afraid that Jiang Shuyu might make a mistake, so he took out paper and pen from his bag and drew a detailed sketch for Jiang Shuyu on how to run and where to dispose of the alarm clock.
He even indicated where to hide in the end.
The drawing was very detailed. Even a fool could understand it.
He even handed the only thing that Ning Wang hadn’t thrown away, a bottle that had chemicals inside, to Jiang Shuyu, teaching her how to use it if she encountered zombies she couldn’t avoid head-on.
Almost every aspect was taken into consideration.
Jiang Shuyu, who had been somewhat scared and fearful, instantly became much calmer. After diligently jotting down all of Ruan Qing’s instructions, she began pulling the rope.
“Ding-ling! Ding-ling!” The sound of the alarm clock rang out, accompanied by the enticing smell of blood.
The bloodthirsty zombies immediately became agitated, making excited ‘hehe’ sounds as they rushed towards the direction of the blood smell.
Even the zombies in lab coats inside the department and office rushed out.
Jiang Shuyu pulled the rope at the fastest speed in her life, running frantically.
Her speed couldn’t match the zombies, so Ruan Qing taught her to pull in the rope while running, so that the zombies wouldn’t catch up to the alarm clock.
Jiang Shuyu executed Ruan Qing’s instructions thoroughly, without any mistakes.
However, Ruan Qing, holding a binocular, felt his heart sink straight down. He had calculated everything, except for the fact that his blood was also an issue.
His blood, unlike Xie Xuanlan’s, actually stimulated the zombies.
The zombies became exceptionally excited after smelling the blood, their speed much faster than usual, exceeding Ruan Qing’s estimation.
At this rate, Jiang Shuyu wouldn’t be able to hold out until the end.
Ruan Qing looked at Xie Xuanlan sitting against the wall, and whispered, “Wait for me here. I’ll be back soon.”
Xie Xuanlan stood up straight, reaching out to grab Ruan Qing’s hand, looking into his eyes. “Is it dangerous?”
Ruan Qing’s eyes curved slightly, softly saying, “I never joke about my own life.”
Xie Xuanlan hesitated for a moment, then finally let go of Ruan Qing’s hand.
Ruan Qing no longer wasted time and limped away.
After running a short distance, Jiang Shuyu noticed that the zombie’s speed was faster than the other zombies, and even if she tried her best, she couldn’t complete the plan.
Jiang Shuyu watched as the approaching zombies got closer and closer, her eyes widening in panic as she frantically ran forward.
However, this sudden burst of effort disrupted her pace, causing her to stumble and fall hard on the ground, scraping her palms and leaving behind traces of blood.
It seemed she might not have enough time to get back up.
Nor could she fulfill the young man’s plan.
And if she died, those two might also end up dead here.
After all, one was weak, and the other was seriously injured, with no way out at all.
Just as Jiang Shuyu gritted her teeth and took out what Ruan Qing had given her, intending to meet her end alongside the zombies, a familiar voice sounded not far from her.
“Throw the alarm clock to the left, careful not to touch the blood on it.”
“Not even a bit of it.”
Though the voice sounded like Ruan Qing’s, it didn’t come directly from him, but rather from his phone not far away.
Obviously, it had been pre-recorded.
Without a second thought, Jiang Shuyu grabbed the nearby alarm clock’s cord and hurled it with all her might to the left.
But the zombies were already upon her.
Terrified, Jiang Shuyu closed her eyes, awaiting her death.
Yet strangely, the charging zombies didn’t pounce on Jiang Shuyu; instead, they bypassed her, excitedly rushing toward the direction of the alarm clock.
It was as if the alarm clock held more attraction for them than Jiang Shuyu, the living person.
As the zombies closed in, something forcefully struck the alarm clock, sending it flying straight out of the already broken window.
And astonishingly, the zombies followed, leaping out through the window.
Throughout the entire process, they didn’t even spare a glance at Jiang Shuyu, as if she weren’t a living person at all.
Jiang Shuyu: “???”
She looked at her palm, now stained with blood from her fall, then glanced at the window where the zombies had jumped out.
She was utterly perplexed.
What was going on? Was she no longer considered a living person?
Or did the zombies have some kind of blood discrimination?
Ruan Qing had no idea what Jiang Shuyu was struggling with. He sighed in relief as he watched several zombies fall with the alarm clock.
There was indeed a significant problem with his blood, and he had to avoid getting injured next.
Except for the zombies trapped indoors and unable to come out, most of the zombies on this floor had been cleared.
After retrieving his own phone, Ruan Qing returned to where he had been before and helped Xie Xuanlan down.
The three entered one of the operating rooms.
Operating rooms should have been useless when the apocalypse came, but this one was clean and well-equipped.
Ruan Qing helped Xie Xuanlan lie down on the operating table and carefully undid the buttons of his shirt.
Ruan Qing was very careful when unbuttoning, barely touching Xie Xuanlan and not touching his wound.
But Xie Xuanlan was still tense all over. Even his muscles were tense, causing blood to flow from his chest wound again, which originally didn’t bleed much.
However, his chest was already moistened with blood, so it was hard to see.
Xie Xuanlan indeed couldn’t feel Ruan Qing touching him, but he could feel the sensation of his buttons being undone.
Moreover, it was being undone by the person he had always harbored feelings for, so no one in his position would be able to remain calm.
Especially when the person in front of him was so close, with slender fingers moving on him. Even if he looked away and tried to calm himself down, it was futile.
Because the young man’s breath and the scent lingering on him served as a constant reminder, indicating that the young man was undoing his buttons.
This made him unable to help but look at the person in front of him again.
The young man was very handsome, with long and curly eyelashes. At this moment, his eyes were half-closed, earnestly unbuttoning his clothes, looking exceptionally obedient and quiet.
Because Xie Xuanlan was lying down and couldn’t see the young man’s beautiful eyes, from his perspective, the young man lacked the usual coquettishness and instead had an indescribable innocence.
Even the mole at the corner of his eye couldn’t suppress this hint of innocence, but instead made him look more enticing.
And the way he was unbuttoning his clothes seemed like he wanted to do something to him.
However, the young man’s actions were too light, and he couldn’t feel anything.
If... it was a bit heavier...
Even though Xie Xuanlan knew that the young man was just checking his wound, he couldn’t help but think of some messy things.
He even thought that he was seriously injured and unable to move, so the young man had to take the initiative to sit on him.
As Xie Xuanlan thought about it, although his expression remained tense, his breathing became slightly heavier.
Upon hearing this, Ruan Qing furrowed his brows slightly. His movements paused, and he raised his gaze to Xie Xuanlan. “Did I hurt you?”
Without waiting for Xie Xuanlan’s response, Ruan Qing lowered his head again to continue unbuttoning. “Bear with it; we can’t go to the pharmacy to get painkillers right now.”
Xie Xuanlan’s ears grew even redder, his legs shifting uncomfortably as he nervously averted his gaze. “...No... it’s nothing.”
Yayyy a new chapter
ReplyDeleteblood discrimination lmaoo
ReplyDeleteThis is seriously one of the best arcs. Usually is just Ruan Qing by himself trying to run away from a bunch of psychos. Despite he is still having to run away from them, this time he has a sincere e trustworthy team. I love their dynamic. It feels much more real this time, like he said
ReplyDeleteRelax, brother. The infection would spread faster if your blood starts rushing "down" there. (。•́︿•̀。)
