[!]
[Is the pig starting to eat the tiger?]
[This little beauty at this moment is so captivating. I’m dying of excitement!]
[The hunt has finally begun!]
Several zombie faction players herded the surviving humans from the classrooms, offices, restrooms, and dormitories to the playground.
Along the way, they made a lot of noise and deliberately used fresh blood to attract zombies, leading more and more zombies to follow. This was to help them deal with the humans and to bring them back to the zombie faction’s base.
At this moment, the group of zombies were on the playground.
One by one, people were being pushed out, crying and screaming as they ran in all directions, desperately begging for mercy. The playground was a gruesome scene of bloodshed.
A few zombie faction players sat under a tree on the playground, watching the scene with delight.
Whenever someone tried to get close to the teaching building, they would instantly be decapitated or have their head smashed by a flying knife or shot put.
After Guo Xiao smashed a person’s head with a shot put, he excitedly shouted, “Is there more? This is so much fun, hahaha!”
Another person was thrown down from the second floor.
He was wearing a school uniform that was a bit small and looked somewhat out of place. His face seemed to have rolled on the ground and finally been buried in a chalk box. Seeing the playground full of zombies turning to look at him, he was so scared that he almost soiled himself, looking ridiculously like a clown.
Under the tree, Guo Xiao pointed at him and laughed uncontrollably, “Coward, did he wet his pants, hahaha!”
Ning Su stood by the window on the second floor, quietly watching the scene below.
Guo Xiao used to be timid and cowardly. When he gained the ability to kill, he became this excited and bloodthirsty person before him, and he would wantonly mock and insult those who were timid.
The zombies swarmed together, their hungry growls drowned out the pleas for mercy.
The clown in the school uniform cried and wailed, crawling and rolling in terror towards the teaching building.
He was about to reach the entrance of the building.
The tears in his eyes washed away the dirt on his face, about to reveal his true face.
“Bang!”
A loud crash.
A head was smashed by a rapidly spinning shot put.
Red blood and white brain matter splattered onto the group of zombies, making them even more frenzied as they rushed forward to tear and devour.
The headless body finally released a stream of urine before it broke apart and scattered.
Guo Xiao bent over, laughing heartily, slapping his leg as he laughed.
The fiery red sunset cast its light on the layers of wrinkles forming at the corners of his eyes, with the red light sinking into the creases, resembling blood flowing.
The player closest to him also jumped up excitedly, just catching a glimpse of the red light on his in the creases of his eyes.
The sunset and the evening glow together formed an orange-red light, which fell on Guo Xiao’s somewhat dark and yellow face, making his complexion appear even darker and redder.
The man thought his eyes were playing tricks on him and rubbed them.
There was indeed blood at the corner of the other’s eyes.
It was flowing from the eye socket along the corner of his eyes, faster and faster.
The “creases” were the dynamic wrinkles around the eyes that appear when someone smiles, which wouldn’t normally be there all the time.
The smile froze on Guo Xiao’s face.
It was that most excited and crazed smile.
Blood gushed out more fiercely, mixed with white substances, just like the pool in front of the school building.
“Ah! Ah! Ahhh—”
A living person beside them, laughing and laughing, suddenly died in such a terrifying and bizarre manner. Even the player who had seen many deaths was frightened, clutching their head and screaming.
The dazzling red sunset light spilled on him and on the zombies covering the playground, as if the whole scene was about to burst into flames.
Ning Su stood by the window, looking indifferently. His peach blossom eyes were even more stunningly beautiful under the rosy twilight.
After a long while, he slightly pursed his lips.
The barrage was already stunned.
[Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap! I got goosebumps.]
[He killed himself!]
[He killed himself, was killed by his own death!]
[He ridiculed himself, killed himself, and then was counter-killed by himself!]
[Today’s self killed yesterday’s self, the crazy self killed the cowardly self.]
[No nesting dolls allowed!]
[I’ll remember this scene for the rest of my life! I don’t know why, but it’s especially shocking!]
[I thought the little beauty was going to secretly kill the old Guo Xiao, thereby disqualifying the current Guo Xiao. Never saw this coming.]
[Damn! Who still says he’s a little fool!]
[First dark card of the Yongming Guild is now gone.]
After the zombies finished feeding, the screams finally echoed throughout the campus.
The Vampire leapt from one of the classrooms, and Ning Su also propped his hands on the window, jumping down to the ground and following the Vampire.
Guo Xiao was still bent over, slapping his legs and laughing.
That moment of wild laughter was forever frozen on his face, submerged in blood.
The Vampire swallowed, his face showing an extremely unpleasant expression, and he asked furiously, “What on earth happened? How did Guo Xiao die!”
There was still fresh blood at the corner of his mouth from his recent feeding, and combined with his angry, ferocious expression, it was truly terrifying.
A few zombie faction players under the tree were shivering in fear, “D-don’t know, he just laughed to death!”
“Laughed to death! Laughed to death! Laughed to death!!!”
With each “laughed to death,” he slapped a player away, and not a single player under the tree could escape.
“You’re telling me he laughed to death?!”
No wonder he was so angry.
Guo Xiao, who wasn’t even allowed to participate in individual competitions, was a hidden ace their guild had kept for a long time.
And now this sword had been destroyed before it was even drawn from its sheath.
They didn’t even know the cause of death. How was he supposed to explain this to the president, to the other members of the guild?
To say he laughed to death?
Damn it!
As the Vampire was gasping with anger, he suddenly sensed something unusual.
Looking down, he saw that his clothing was being tugged.
A pale, beautiful hand, belonging to Ning Su.
Ning Su was gripping his clothing tightly, looking at the dead Guo Xiao, his small face drained of all color in fright.
Most of the Vampire’s anger dissipated, replaced by a strange sense of satisfaction and contentment.
What did it matter if this coward’s bloodline could suppress him, in crucial moments? Wasn’t he still scared to the point of being useless?
The Vampire said to Ning Su, “Don’t be afraid.”
[...]
[“Don’t Be Afraid”]
Ning Su immediately withdrew his hand and hid it behind his back.
The Vampire, in a much gentler tone, asked him, “Did you see how Guo Xiao died?”
Ning Su replied, “I heard a scream and ran down. It was already like this when I got here; I only saw Guo Xiao dead beside them.”
“......”
[......]
[He doesn’t seem to be lying.]
[Confirmed, not lying.]
Ning Su added, “There were no arrows shot at him, nor was he hit by anything heavy. It’s so strange.”
The Vampire looked at the other players with a sharper, more suspicious gaze.
“......”
After such an incident, they didn’t feel like continuing to search for zombies. Instead, they decided to head back with this batch of zombies.
Three children were waiting for them in the car, while the high school Gu Witch was nowhere to be seen.
Relying on their feet, who knows how long it would take to traverse this city?
On one of the roads, they found the only vehicle that could still run among many others, a small truck. Once they removed the top cover of the cargo box, it turned into a convertible.
The three children were sitting at the back of the truck, legs hanging off the edge, watching the sunset.
Gui Sheng and Manman had lollipops in their mouths, and their eyes lit up when they saw Ning Su.
Manman asked, “Can we go now?”
Ning Su nodded, using his hand to support himself as he jumped into the truck.
Once all the players had jumped into the truck, the high school Gu Witch finally appeared, standing there and staring at Ning Su for a few seconds without saying a word.
The convertible truck drove towards the zombie base, followed by a group of staggering zombies.
Amidst the bumpiness of the convertible, Gui Sheng spread his small arms wide, facing the wind, and shouted, “Homeward bound!”
Ning Su: “......”
