More and more zombies were gathering behind them, following their vehicle in a grand, terrifying procession, moving stiffly or awkwardly forward.
But the truck was filled with a warmth that made Black-clothed Azan uneasy.
Black-clothed Azan glanced at the young Shi Tianzhu opposite him. The young Shi Tianzhu gave him a light look, indifferent, with no love or hatred, as if looking at an ordinary passerby.
Black-clothed Azan said with a dark expression, “We’ll split into two teams. The second Ning Su, along with the Gu Witch and the Vampire, will attack from the front. Ning Su, you come with me and the Human Pupa Master, and we’ll sneak into the base from behind to kill their leaders.”
Ning Su immediately asked, “Who will Shi Tianzhu go with?”
Jing Dingxuan replied, “I’ll take her with the second Ning Su. If the second Ning Su doesn’t lead the zombies to attack the human base properly, I’ll kill her immediately.”
Ning Su quickly placed the hands of the two children in the white cage.
Gui Sheng said, “Hmm! Protect!”
Manman said, “Mom, don’t worry. I won’t slack off this time.”
The human base was very well built and had experience dealing with zombies multiple times. They detected the zombie army before it even approached.
The entire base prepared nervously yet orderly, with the superhumans rushing towards the base gate.
Black-clothed Azan whispered, “The Gu Witch said that the people from the Hongyu Guild are here. We don’t know if they went to the base gate, but if they didn’t, we’ll deal with them together.”
He looked at Ning Su.
Ning Su raised his hand. “I won’t hold back. The Hongyu Guild is also a strong competitor for our Yinhua.”
Black-clothed Azan said, “Good, jump!”
The three of them leaped onto the high walls of the base together.
“Beep—alarm! Alarm! Zombies! Zombies!”
“......”
Ning Su looked at the Black-clothed Azan and the Human Pupa Master with a resentful expression, feeling burdened by the two zombie players.
“......”
The Human Pupa Master said, “Who cares! The zombies have already broken in. Who knows which zombies triggered the alarm? Even if they know, they can’t take care of us now.”
She jumped down first, swinging her pupa canister to kill a person. “What is there to fear with the few people left in the base? Kill anyone you see.”
Ning Su gave her a thumbs up and jumped down after her.
Any humans they encountered on the way were swiftly and brutally dealt with by the two experts, while Ning Su followed behind, taking advantage of the chaos with ease.
Until they reached the center of the base.
Ning Su’s initial relief turned into confusion. He stared blankly at the familiar scene, his fingers gradually clenching tighter.
“There’s a research institute up ahead. The researchers should still be inside. Let’s go in and kill them,” the Human Pupa Master said from the left.
Unconsciously, Ning Su turned his head in response to her words, just in time to see the research institute’s main door open.
A few researchers stood in a row in front of a group of grotesque figures.
The person in the middle was wearing a blue shirt and a white lab coat, looking calm and scholarly as always.
Black-clothed Azan and the Human Pupa Master, who were about to rush forward, suddenly stopped in their tracks when they saw the group of twisted people.
Some of those people had six arms, some had multiple pairs of eyes on their faces, some were covered in green pustules, and some had scales all over their bodies and even a lizard’s tail.
Even the Human Pupa Master was taken aback. “What the hell are these things? They’re even more disgusting than my human pupae!”
The person in the middle didn’t look at her. His eyes were fixed on Ning Su. “Ning Su, you dare come here.”
The Human Pupa Master also looked at Ning Su in surprise. “You have a story arc? Ah, are you the Zombie King, Ning Su?”
Ning Su ignored her. He looked at the man and said, “Long time no see, Professor Lu.”
When Ning Su first met Lu Weiming, he was extremely excited.
Lu Weiming was one of the most renowned professors in their academy, highly respected in academic circles.
That year, after a three-year hiatus, he was taking on graduate students again, only two.
Ning Su was one of them.
Ning Su entered his office amid the envy, jealousy, and resentment of many classmates.
At that time, he thought he would diligently follow his mentor’s guidance, study hard, publish many papers, and live up to his trust.
Back then, he didn’t know he was stepping into a den of demons.
Lu Weiming had long been curious about his body, purely wanting to conduct research out of sheer curiosity.
He was a research fanatic, almost pathological.
Several times, he locked Ning Su in the laboratory, grabbed his wrist, and, staring at the red-black veins in his arm, said excitedly, “Give the teacher some blood to study, okay? Okay?”
“Let the teacher study whether some people are born with filthy blood, carrying sin in their genes.”
Under the bright, almost blinding light of the laboratory, his eyes turned red, and madness spread in his gaze.
After Ning Su refused, he faced endless school bullying. The more he refused, the worse it became.
In that laboratory, he was like a marginal figure.
In a peaceful world, at most, he would only lead his graduate students to bully Ning Su, publicly scolding him in lectures and inciting the whole college to bully him.
In the apocalypse, without the constraints of law and morality, the end of the world became a paradise for this perverted researcher, allowing him to act without any scruples.
Ning Su was locked in the laboratory by him twice: once to study his abilities and once to study him after he had just turned into a zombie.
Those were the times he least wanted to remember.
If it weren’t for his devouring ability, which could devour viruses and other biological genes, Ning Su would probably have become more terrifying than those people behind him.
Ning Su could no longer remember how many times he had been dissected, tested with poison, and subjected to stress tests.
Ning Su quietly looked at him and said, “What a pity, you’re not dead yet.”
Lu Weiming responded, “What a pity, you can no longer lie on my lab table. I often miss the way you looked, tied up there, your beautiful peach blossom eyes pleadingly looking at me.”
He took a step forward—
“Bang!” The Human Pupa Master used her pupa canister to smash his head askew, saying, “What plot are you following in a guild competition? Hurry up and kill!”
Lu Weiming’s neck made a “crack” sound as he twisted it back, smiling at the Human Pupa Master.
Ning Su shouted, “Be careful!”
All the deformed people behind Lu Weiming pounced on the Human Pupa Master, while a large amount of blue liquid sprayed outward from the door.
The researchers who studied zombies knew best how to deal with zombies, and possibly even zombie players.
Ning Su shouted to Black-clothed Azan, “They specialize in dealing with zombies; we must kill them all!”
Black-clothed Azan replied, “Got it!”
The blue liquid dripped onto the skin, making a “sizzling” corrosive sound.
Ning Su hastily wiped it off with his white T-shirt, rushing towards Lu Weiming like the wind, grabbing his neck and smashing him into the research institute.
More deformed people emerged from the research institute.
They surrounded Ning Su, inching closer to him.
Among these deformed people, several were lying in the same laboratory as Ning Su at that time.
Ning Su pursed his lips and looked at them. As they pounced on him, he jumped up, grabbed the railing on the second floor, and turned around to see the deformed people following suit.
He quickly jumped into the corridor and was about to run towards the laboratory in front when a sharp hand suddenly reached out from the opposite door and pulled him into the room with an irresistible force.
Ning Su’s heart skipped a beat, and he immediately gripped the Heaven-piercing Silk.
The base leader, one of the people he hated most in the entire base, briefly flashed in his eyes in the darkness. The Heaven-piercing Silk in Ning Su’s hand stretched to its limit and was about to pierce through the leader’s head.
The next second, his beautiful peach blossom shaped eyes suddenly widened.
The Heaven-piercing Silk drooped softly, like white gauze gently falling on Ning Su.
On the body held in the other person’s arms.
The heart in his chest was still pounding violently, more intensely than when he had been running or in danger a moment ago.
Two chests were pressed tightly together, two hearts beating in one chest.
Ning Su’s head was held firmly by a long, strong hand, surrounded by a familiar and comforting presence.
The room was dimly lit, with dust floating in the white light streaming through the window.
He saw the face of the person holding him in the mirror on the wall.
It used to be one of the faces he hated and despised the most. At this moment, as Ning Su looked at that face, many emotions that were not hateful arose within him, feelings of joy mixed with a bit of bitterness.
Ning Su, feeling the heavy heartbeat from the chest pressed tightly against his, opened his mouth and asked him, “Do you miss your heart?”
Daddy's here 😍
