It’s well known that the leaderboard wasn’t just about strength; such a player must also possess many rare and powerful items.
Getting just one of those items could potentially allow someone to dominate the game.
Moreover, the other party must know a lot about the Infinite Horror Game, making items or clues from them highly desirable.
Even the players who were watching were tempted, wishing they could step up and propose a bet in Ruan Qing’s place.
However, Ruan Qing neither asked for any items nor inquired about anything. He lowered his gaze and softly said, “Spare me.”
Su Zhen chuckled lightly upon hearing this. “A kiss isn’t enough.”
Clearly, Su Zhen had only given Ruan Qing the right to propose.
If the proposal couldn’t satisfy him, it wouldn’t be accepted.
“Either you raise the stakes, or choose something else.”
After Su Zhen finished speaking, his gaze on Ruan Qing shifted ambiguously downward. “If you accept my first proposal, I might consider it.”
Su Zhen’s gaze was anything but innocent, carrying a hint of aggressive dominance.
Despite the betting table blocking them, it seemed as if it wasn’t there at all, as though Su Zhen could see right through Ruan Qing.
Ruan Qing’s body grew more rigid under Su Zhen’s gaze, and his hands on his knees clenched tighter.
After a few seconds of silence, he looked into Su Zhen’s eyes. “Follow the rules of the Life and Death Casino.”
“Absolutely.”
Su Zhen raised his eyebrows upon hearing this, seemingly surprised that Ruan Qing would make such a request.
“Alright.”
With both parties agreeing on the bet, Su Zhen nonchalantly tapped the gambling table, signaling the staff to roll the dice.
“Let’s begin.”
Su Zhen’s tone was as if he were giving orders to a servant, without even asking what the staff would want if they won the bet.
It was as if he knew for certain that the staff would lose.
The staff’s eyes darkened, but he said nothing. After Su Zhen finished speaking, he started rolling the dice.
The four quickly got their cards.
Ruan Qing focused intensely on his cards, quickly calculating the fastest and most optimal route to victory, the probability of cards appearing, and what cards everyone else might have.
If he were gambling with the staff, Ruan Qing would play his cards skillfully, winning beautifully to earn more gold coins.
But with Su Zhen present, things were different.
Su Zhen would definitely not give him much time for analysis and calculation.
Winning this round could be very difficult.
And if he couldn’t win this round, he would be under Su Zhen’s thumb for the rest of the instance.
He might not even find a chance to escape.
That’s right, escape.
Ruan Qing originally planned to stay in this instance for seven days, but now that seemed impossible.
The longer he stayed with Su Zhen, the more dangerous it would become.
In the face of overwhelming power, many schemes were futile. He, alone, without any combat abilities, was absolutely powerless to resist.
He had to get the hundred thousand gold coins quickly and leave this instance.
Ruan Qing no longer cared if his cards were the best; he just wanted to win this round as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, Su Zhen showed no sign of tension. His demeanor was utterly relaxed, almost like an elegant nobleman.
Even sitting in the casino, he seemed as though he were in some refined setting.
Su Zhen, with a somewhat casual attitude, barely took his eyes off Ruan Qing.
He casually played a card and spoke indifferently, “Where have you been lately?”
Ruan Qing didn’t want to answer, but when he remained silent for almost a minute, Su Zhen’s slender fingers tapped the gambling table.
The sound wasn’t loud, but it carried a hint of an unmistakable danger.
Ruan Qing glanced at the black thread wrapped around Su Zhen’s fingertips and lightly pursed his lips. “I’ve been in the dungeons the whole time.”
The bet hadn’t been settled, and he hadn’t won the game, so it was impossible for Su Zhen to start adhering to the agreement now.
He could even break the agreement at any time before the bet was settled.
And there was nothing he could do about it.
So Ruan Qing had no choice but to obediently answer.
Su Zhen wasn’t too surprised by Ruan Qing’s answer because if he stayed in the game’s main city, it would be easy for him to be discovered.
Most people would choose to enter the dungeons to avoid the bounty.
However, this person should have been able to avoid the players’ pursuit even in the main city.
That’s why his 100,000 points were for him.
It’s just a pity that this person didn’t seem to be tempted by the 100,000 points.
He wasn’t tempted not only by 100,000 points but also by 400,000 points.
This piqued Su Zhen’s curiosity.
It’s rare for a player not to be tempted by so many points unless they already had enough points or simply couldn’t do it.
But this person clearly didn’t have enough points, nor was it beyond his capabilities.
After all, he was the person they were looking for; he could easily take away the 400,000 points if he just showed up.
It was something easily obtainable.
Su Zhen played while chatting, as if they were old friends who hadn’t seen each other for a long time. “Staying in the dungeons all the time is exhausting. Why not take a break in the main city?”
“Can’t enter, owe points,” Ruan Qing’s mind wasn’t on the conversation. He answered while glancing at the card Su Zhen played.
Su Zhen seemed not to have expected that answer, but if he owed points, he should have shown up to take the 400,000.
But this person didn’t.
Curiously, Su Zhen asked, “How much do you owe?”
Ruan Qing spoke honestly, “Tens of millions.”
Su Zhen was momentarily stunned upon hearing this, and sincerely exclaimed, “You’re really amazing.”
The players watching and the audience in the live stream were dumbfounded.
[??? How much? Honey, how much do you owe???]
[Tens of millions!!!? Damn! Did you kill the main game system or something!!!?]
[Damn! This is the first time I’ve heard that you can owe points in this game, and the first time I’ve heard you can owe tens of millions! The streamer must have killed the main game system, or is this the main game system’s favorite? How can they owe so much and not get wiped out?]
Ruan Qing ignored Su Zhen’s praise and felt a sinking feeling.
Because while playing, he noticed something was off with the two staff members.
These two were assisting Su Zhen...
And they were heavily suppressing him, making it impossible for him to figure out what their cards were.
The easiest way to calculate a gambler’s hand was to observe the cards they play, allowing one to deduce the remaining cards in their hand.
Just as he had already roughly figured out what cards Su Zhen held and what he was aiming to win with.
However, the two staff members were playing without any rules, only coordinating with Su Zhen while playing random cards otherwise.
They had no intention of winning and completely disrupted Ruan Qing’s calculations and analysis.
It was obvious that these two were controlled by Su Zhen’s black threads.
Su Zhen’s card skills were not particularly impressive, but with the two staff members helping him, his advantage over Ruan Qing was significant.
A four-player game had turned into a three-against-one situation.
Although it was difficult to analyze the random cards played by the staff, it was easy to see that the cards Su Zhen needed to win were not in their hands.
Ruan Qing dared not play the cards Su Zhen needed, which made his own hand even more chaotic.
Worse still, Su Zhen could directly control him with the black threads.
If even the casino staff couldn’t resist, Ruan Qing stood no chance.
He was likely to lose this round for sure.
Ruan Qing’s grip on the gambling cards tightened, turning his knuckles white.
Thank youuuu
