Han Ze looked around a few times but couldn’t see anything, so he lowered his head in disappointment.
Ruan Qing finished his shower quickly and came out.
Seeing Ruan Qing come out, Han Ze’s eyes lit up. He immediately ran up to him, like a puppy seeing a bone.
Ruan Qing ignored Han Ze and sat down on the bed, picking up the tablet beside him.
Seeing Ruan Qing’s hair still dripping, Han Ze hurriedly fumbled for a clean towel and hesitantly approached him.
Seeing that Ruan Qing didn’t scold him, he carefully used the towel to dry his hair.
Ruan Qing glanced at Han Ze and allowed him to dry his hair.
He then opened the interface for Area 2 of the Life and Death Casino on the tablet, preparing to review the rules of that night’s gamble.
The gamble was actually similar to a relay race.
Two people form a team; one would stay at the starting and finishing point to give instructions, while the other sets off from the starting point to collect ten flags required by the gamble.
The team that would return to the finish line first would win.
This gamble was different from an ordinary long-distance race; the entire arena was fraught with danger. Other teams might also use lethal force, and a moment’s inattention could result in death.
After all, there was no prohibition on violence in this gamble. As long as you killed your opponents, you would have enough time to find the flags and return to the starting point.
If you were strong enough, killing all the opponents might be the safest strategy.
Of course, the two members of a team could also choose to enter the gamble together to look for the flags.
Two people searching for flags would seem much faster.
Few teams would choose this option, as the entire gamble resembled a massive maze.
The maze was full of dead ends and dangers, with walls high enough to prevent climbing, making it impossible to see other areas from within.
Without guidance from teammates, it was challenging to even leave the maze, let alone collect ten flags.
This task required cooperation between two people.
One for strength and one for intelligence, both were indispensable.
Additionally, only one team could emerge victorious from this gamble.
Clearly, Han Ze was the one to enter the maze to find the flags; having him direct would likely be quicker to just give up.
Ruan Qing pondered the possibility of joining in.
However, if he teamed up with Han Ze, it would make Han Ze a target for everyone.
Although Ruan Qing had seen Han Ze’s gamble with the staff, he had only watched for about a minute and wasn’t sure of Han Ze’s true capabilities.
As Ruan Qing hesitated, the system spoke in his mind.
[He is very strong.]
Ruan Qing paused at the sound, didn’t respond to the system, and continued to read the gambling information.
Han Ze, unaware of Ruan Qing’s thoughts, was diligently drying Ruan Qing’s hair.
His serious expression made it seem like he was performing a highly important task.
However, as he continued, Han Ze became somewhat stiff.
Because there was a pleasant fragrance.
Han Ze had smelled it when he first approached the young man, a faint but delightful scent.
After the young man’s bath, the fragrance became even more pronounced.
Han Ze stared blankly at the young man’s fair and slender neck, lost in thought.
The young man was wearing a white bathrobe provided by the casino after his bath.
The bathrobes were one-size-fits-all, not customized to fit the gamblers, and generally on the larger side.
The large bathrobe was clearly too big for the young man, loosely draped on him, fully exposing his delicate collarbones.
From Han Ze’s angle, he could even catch glimpses of some faintly visible fair skin.
It wasn’t particularly fair, probably due to the hot water, making the skin appear with a slight pinkish hue.
It was extremely attractive.
Moreover, the young man’s bathrobe was so loose that it seemed with a slight pull or a larger movement from the young man, the bathrobe would slip off his shoulders.
And he was definitely wearing nothing underneath.
Nothing at all.
Han Ze became even more rigid, feeling his mouth dry as he swallowed, his throat moving up and down with the motion.
Not only did Han Ze felt discomfort in his throat, but he also felt uncomfortable all over.
He felt as if his whole body was heating up, especially a certain part that felt swollen, extremely uncomfortable.
It was as if he were ill.
Han Ze’s mind skipped a beat. Was he really ill?
Han Ze became somewhat anxious; he wanted to check.
But the young man’s hair wasn’t dry yet, so he could only continue drying it for him, though his eyes were filled with impatience.
After Ruan Qing’s hair was dry, Han Ze rushed to the bathroom in a hurry, took out his phone, and started searching online.
Ruan Qing, who was looking at gambling materials, saw the man rushing urgently and assumed he needed to relieve himself, so he continued looking at his materials.
Although Han Ze was a bit slow, he was literate.
He immediately described his symptoms clearly and searched for an explanation.
Cancer... terminal stage.
Han Ze’s eyes widened, pupils contracted, and his whole body felt as if struck by lightning, his handsome face turning a shade paler.
Han Ze’s eyes reddened as he looked at the search result, his lips trembling, his whole being seeming to have suffered a tremendous blow.
How could he have gotten cancer?
He had just met someone he liked.
Han Ze clutched his phone tightly, nearly breaking into tears.
But just as he was about to cry, he saw the unwashed clothes nearby.
They were the clothes the young man had just changed out of after bathing, obviously not yet washed.
Han Ze stood up with a sad expression, then put the clothes into the water and silently started washing them.
Han Ze washed very diligently and soon finished washing the shirt.
But when he got to the pants, he froze, because there were not only long pants but also underwear.
Han Ze carefully picked them up, his handsome face turning red. He stared at them for a while before gently scrubbing them.
His movements were so gentle, as if he was afraid of damaging the items.
In fact, Ruan Qing’s clothes had only been worn for half a day and were very clean, but Han Ze took almost half an hour to wash them.
By the end, his face was completely red, even his ears were red.
Han Ze dawdled for a long time before walking out of the bathroom, looking at Ruan Qing with a guilty and evasive gaze.
It was as if he had just done something he shouldn’t have in the bathroom.
The bathroom door was not closed, so Ruan Qing could see Han Ze washing his clothes and didn’t misunderstand anything.
He just glanced at him and then looked away.
“Tomorrow, we’ll be on the same team.”
After speaking, Ruan Qing thought for a moment and added quietly, “If you don’t mind that I’m weak.”
If Han Ze went to gamble alone, he would surely lose.
Since the system said Han Ze was very strong, it obviously agreed with his idea.
Seeing this, Han Ze quickly shook his head, afraid that Ruan Qing would misunderstand, and said urgently, “I don’t mind, I don’t mind at all.”
Ruan Qing nodded. “Then tomorrow, we’ll be on the same team.”
