The young man’s hands were slightly cold, probably because of the bath, and it felt extremely comfortable when they touched the feverish forehead.
Moreover, the young man’s hands were soft, as soft as cotton candy, melting right into Han Ze’s heart.
It was like feathers tickling his heart.
Han Ze’s gaze involuntarily moved downwards, stopping at Ruan Qing’s slightly pursed thin lips.
The young man’s lips seemed to have been bitten, carrying a slight blush, looking extremely alluring.
They looked... delicious.
The more Han Ze looked, the more uncomfortable he felt, even feeling a bit of discomfort in his heart.
It was as if something was sprouting in his heart and growing wildly.
Han Ze’s throat moved, and he felt something different below.
That extremely uncomfortable reaction came again.
It seemed to constantly remind him that he was about to die.
Han Ze lowered his head gloomily, almost overwhelmed by sorrow.
He used to be very healthy, so why was he suddenly going to die?
He didn’t want to die.
Before, Han Ze didn’t care if he died or not. Every time he gambled, he never thought he could leave the game alive. If he died, he died. After all, this monotonous life was inherently uninteresting.
But now it was different. He had someone he liked. He didn’t want to die at all.
After confirming that Han Ze was indeed feverish, Ruan Qing withdrew his hand and then placed it on Han Ze’s wrist, his delicate white fingertips resting on the pulse.
He was preparing to check the pulse to see what was going on.
“It’s not there.” When Ruan Qing’s hand landed on his wrist, Han Ze, feeling aggrieved and desperate, grabbed Ruan Qing’s hand and guided it downward to the area with the abnormal condition, “It’s here.”
“This is where it hurts the most.”
Han Ze’s voice was extremely hoarse, sounding less foolish and giving off a deep, magnetic feeling.
It was so pleasant that one couldn’t help but become immersed in it.
Ruan Qing never expected Han Ze to grab his hand, much less that he would guide his hand downward, so he was completely unprepared.
When he felt a strange sensation in his hand, he finally realized what it was.
Ruan Qing’s beautiful eyes widened instantly, and the next second, he quickly withdrew his hand as if shocked by electricity, instinctively pushing the person in front of him.
However, Ruan Qing’s strength was insufficient, and he couldn’t budge the tall Han Ze at all.
He didn’t even push him slightly off balance.
Ruan Qing immediately stood up, took a few steps back to put some distance between them, and then cast a barely noticeable glance at Han Ze, his eyes filled with deep vigilance.
There was no trace of the gentleness he had just shown Han Ze.
Because Ruan Qing suspected that this person was pretending to be foolish, to the point where even he had believed it.
But the problem was, the system didn’t have such good acting skills.
If this person was really pretending, then it was very likely he wasn’t an avatar of the system.
Han Ze probably didn’t expect Ruan Qing to push him, and he looked at Ruan Qing in a daze, then saw Ruan Qing’s wary and suspicious attitude.
Han Ze’s heart tightened. Did he realize he was a fool?
So now he despised him like the other gamblers?
The double blow of his terminal illness and being despised by the person he liked made Han Ze feel so miserable that he couldn’t breathe, and tears started to fall.
He looked utterly desperate.
Although Han Ze was tall and handsome, his crying wasn’t unsightly.
Because he didn’t wail loudly or make any noise, but quietly let tears fall while pressing his thin lips together.
He looked so pitiful.
Moreover, his eyes held a clear yet foolish look, something that couldn’t be faked.
Ruan Qing: “...” Maybe he overthought it.
Han Ze felt extremely wronged. He looked at Ruan Qing, his voice filled with grievance and a hint of accusation, “Do you despise me for being a fool, too?”
“...No.” Ruan Qing looked away, speaking softly, “I’ve been sitting too long. My legs are numb, so I stood up to walk a bit.”
“I see.” Han Ze blinked, his grievance disappearing, and obediently wiped away his tears.
He clearly believed Ruan Qing’s flimsy excuse completely, as if he would believe anything Ruan Qing said.
Ruan Qing’s eyelashes fluttered slightly when he saw the scene, experiencing for the first time how easy it was to pacify a fool.
Han Ze was very happy when he realized he wasn’t being disliked. His mouth curved slightly upwards in joy, but as soon as he thought about his impending death, sadness welled up in his heart again.
It was no better than before.
Ruan Qing immediately saw why Han Ze was upset. He sat back down somewhat helplessly. “You’re not sick.”
“Really?” The distressed Han Ze looked at Ruan Qing in a daze, as if seeking confirmation.
Ruan Qing responded with a faint “Mm.”
Han Ze furrowed his brows and spoke with some hesitation. “But I feel terrible. Everyone says you only feel terrible when you’re sick.”
Han Ze had never been sick before; he had only been injured in gambling games, so he didn’t know what being sick felt like.
But being injured also felt terrible, and everyone said that was being sick.
But if the young man said it wasn’t being sick, then it definitely wasn’t being sick.
Han Ze firmly believed this.
Ruan Qing looked at Han Ze, who clearly believed him but still had a curious look in his eyes, and said softly, “That’s not an illness, it’s just a normal reaction of an adult man.”
Han Ze blinked upon hearing this, looking at Ruan Qing with eager eyes, and asked again, “Really?”
Ruan Qing nodded slightly. “Really, so you’re not dying.”
“Do you have it too?” Han Ze’s gaze dropped a bit, landing on a certain part of Ruan Qing, with a hint of curiosity in his clear eyes.
If it were someone else staring at that part of another person, it might seem very lewd.
But Han Ze’s gaze was very pure, clearly just curious if Ruan Qing felt the same discomfort as him.
It didn’t feel offensive at all, nor did it have any sense of aggression.
Ruan Qing didn’t even blink at the question. “I’m not an adult yet.”
“Oh.” Han Ze had a look of understanding, but the silly look in his eyes completely gave him away.
Clearly, he didn’t understand at all, but was too embarrassed to admit it.
The system fell into silence and confusion at the scene.
Why did it feel like... Ruan Qing was especially patient with Han Ze?
Was it an illusion?
Ruan Qing could tell from Han Ze’s expression that he didn’t understand, but he didn’t explain further. Instead, he took off his shoes and got into bed, pulling the covers over himself.
It was almost dawn, and there was a tough battle to be fought that night. He had to ensure he got enough sleep.
Moreover, the two matches with Su Zhen had drained a lot of his energy, and he was indeed feeling a bit drowsy now.
is ruan qing being patient with him cuz hes part of the system?? system x ruan qing is real!!
ReplyDeleteHow can you hate a Golden Retriever? He's a dumdum who doesn't know any better.
ReplyDelete...The real problem is when he REALIZES the reason for his "sickness".
He may be docile now but he's far from tamed. 😊
