Ruan Qing’s face turned pale, almost transparent. He widened his eyes and stared intensely at the vine, his whole body tensed.
After the green vine oozed the liquid, the liquid seemed to come alive, transforming into golden threads that reconnected the broken ends.
In less than three seconds after the green vine broke, it completely restored to its state before being broken by the monster.
Even the patterns and veins on the leaves were intact.
It was as if it had returned to the data at a saved point in a game.
But the green vine merely restored itself and did not attack the monster. Apart from that overwhelming fear that made one feel powerless, it seemed to pose no other danger.
Moreover, once the green vine restored itself, that terrifying feeling vanished, and everything returned to normal.
The monster seemed unaware of that terrifying aura. Since the stick was no longer moving, it lost its target and began wandering again.
Ruan Qing pressed his thin lips tightly together, harboring a terrible suspicion in his heart.
The golden-yellow color was too familiar.
It was the color of the pupils of the staff at the Life and Death Casino.
When the staff experienced extreme emotional fluctuations, they would appear non-human, and their pupils would turn golden-yellow.
The monster’s pupils were golden-yellow, and the liquid from the green vine was golden-yellow.
Ruan Qing did not believe this was a coincidence.
It was highly likely that this was indeed Area Three of the Life and Death Casino, and Area Three... was the nest of the staff.
He must leave this place as quickly as possible.
The green vines seemed to be dormant; even if they are attacked, they wouldn’t attack anything else.
For now, they were considered harmless.
Like before, Ruan Qing took advantage of the monster’s back being turned towards him to approach the green vines.
The green vines covered most of the wall, completely obscuring the view of the wall, making it not easy to find the key.
Ruan Qing wasn’t in a hurry. He took out a tablet from his backpack and exchanged points for a small knife on it.
Then, he gently used the knife to part the leaves of the green vines to look for any clues about the key.
The vines indeed covered the clues.
Ruan Qing looked, and it seemed to be a mechanism, but this mechanism required a password to activate.
The key was most likely inside this mechanism.
Ruan Qing searched for nearly ten minutes before finally finding a clue under another section of green vines.
It was a strange pattern.
The green vines mostly covered the pattern; even after parting the leaves, the pattern was not clearly visible.
Ruan Qing glanced at the monster moving to the other side with its back towards him, and silently cut through the vines with the knife.
After cutting the vines, Ruan Qing quickly retracted his hand and the knife, without touching a single drop of the golden-yellow sap.
The vines did not attack Ruan Qing; instead, they continued to exude golden-yellow sap and quickly reverted to their original state.
But that second was enough for Ruan Qing to see the pattern clearly.
The pattern was obviously incomplete; more patterns needed to be found.
Ruan Qing continued to search the wall and eventually found all the patterns.
After calculating the password, Ruan Qing went directly to the mechanism.
The green vines regenerated incredibly quickly.
So quickly that it was only possible to see the pattern, and completely impossible to input the password into the mechanism before the vines regenerated.
It was also completely impossible to get the key before the vines regenerated.
After cutting through the green vines, Ruan Qing tried to block the cut with something.
As soon as it encountered the golden-yellow liquid, the object was immediately devoured, and the liquid even started to climb up the object toward Ruan Qing, as if it intended to consume him as well.
Ruan Qing’s eyes widened and his pupils constricted as he quickly let go of the object in his hand.
After devouring everything in its path, the golden-yellow liquid reconnected with the broken branch, restoring it to its original state.
Seeing this, Ruan Qing tightly pressed his thin lips together, a hint of seriousness in his beautiful eyes.
It was impossible to retrieve the key under these circumstances unless there was something large enough to be devoured by the golden-yellow liquid to buy him some time.
After all, the golden-yellow liquid only reconnected with the broken branch after consuming whatever was obstructing it.
Ruan Qing glanced around, and his gaze finally settled on a wandering monster.
Although the monster had just attacked the vines, it fell to the ground with the stick and did not touch the golden-yellow liquid, so it wasn’t devoured by it.
However, simply throwing objects wouldn’t work, as they would fall to the ground and make noise, attracting the monster and distracting it from the golden-yellow liquid.
Ruan Qing took out a tablet, opened the Life and Death Casino shop, and unhesitatingly redeemed a rope and an alarm clock.
He then set the alarm clock, tied it to a leaf on the vine, and silently retreated to the side.
This time, Ruan Qing didn’t retreat too far, as he needed to grab the key to the door once the monster was dealt with.
“Ring! Ring!” The alarm clock went off.
The monster immediately lunged at the alarm clock, causing the vine to break under its attack.
Since the alarm clock was tied to the vine, it didn’t fall to the ground, and the monster didn’t leave.
Golden-yellow liquid flowed from the broken branch and started to climb onto the monster.
A trace of fear appeared in the monster’s golden-yellow eyes as it tried to struggle free, but the liquid gradually engulfed it.
Seeing this, Ruan Qing no longer worried about making noise and sprinted toward the broken branch as quickly as possible.
As the golden liquid engulfed the monster, he quickly entered the password for the mechanism and retrieved the key.
Because he moved so swiftly, the mechanism that held the key scraped his fingertip.
The wound on Ruan Qing’s finger was not small, and bright red blood immediately flowed out, sliding down his fair, slender fingers.
Finally, a drop of blood fell onto the leaf of a green vine.
Ruan Qing didn’t have time to worry about whether his hand was injured, nor did he notice the blood dripping onto the leaf. After obtaining the key, he quickly retreated to avoid the terrifying golden liquid.
The green vine restored itself once again, but this time, only Ruan Qing was left in the passage.
Only then did Ruan Qing relax, sitting in the corner and breathing heavily.
He lowered his gaze to look at the blood-stained key in his hand, then immediately looked at his injured finger.
Ruan Qing frowned slightly, not because the wound hurt, but because the bloodstains could attract some dangers.
Even though he was currently the only person in this place.
Ruan Qing exchanged for medicine and gauze from the death casino’s store. After quickly bandaging the wound, he contacted Han Ze on the other end through his earpiece.
Han Ze seemed extremely anxious, his voice trembling with urgency, “Where are you!?”
Ruan Qing didn’t know his exact location, but he knew where Han Ze was.
He first calmed Han Ze down, then analyzed Han Ze’s current position on the tablet based on the red dots.
No one noticed that at the moment Ruan Qing’s blood dripped onto the leaf, the leaf trembled several times and slowly absorbed the blood.
Then, the vine that was originally dormant seemed to awaken, beginning to grow wildly and spread.
Because Ruan Qing was deeply focused on his analysis, he didn’t notice the strange behavior of the green vine or that it was silently approaching him.
In just three seconds, a mass of green vines was already dancing excitedly behind him, as if wanting to devour Ruan Qing.
Ruan Qing didn’t see it, but the live-stream viewers did.
[Ahhhhh! Run, hubby! Hurry up!!!]
[It’s over, it’s over, my hubby is doomed, sob sob.]
