Trying to kill 'His' beloved right in front of the madman—this was no longer something that could be resolved with pleading or seduction. It was a fight to the death.
Even if the one begging for mercy was the young man himself, it wouldn’t change a thing.
Xiao Mingyu didn’t believe this person had the power to save him, but he agreed anyway. [Fine.]
[If you can really save me, I’ll tell you the whole truth.]
Ruan Qing wasn’t surprised by Xiao Mingyu’ agreement. He spoke faintly, [Can you hold out for three minutes?]
Xiao Mingyu felt insulted. He gritted his teeth. [Who the hell do you think you’re looking down on?]
In truth, it wasn’t that Ruan Qing was underestimating Xiao Mingyu—he really was struggling to hold on.
Even for just three minutes.
Xiao Mingyu naturally understood the madman’s power. Once someone owed 'Him' a debt, no one could defeat 'Him'.
From the moment all things in this world came into existence, karma had been woven into their fate. No one was free of debt—only the scale of what was owed differed.
And 'He' was the entity that governed sin and punishment.
But it was only today that Xiao Mingyu learned this bastard had one hell of a bug in 'His' power—if you so much as scratched 'Him', it fucking counted as owing 'Him' a debt.
Owing a debt meant guilt, and guilt demanded punishment.
Under these rules, 'He' was practically invincible.
[Hey, hey, hey! Are you done yet? I fucking can’t hold on much longer!]
Xiao Mingyu’s voice had long lost its earlier composure, and he looked utterly disheveled. [If you don’t come up with something soon, I’m running for it!]
[Almost.]
In the corner, Ruan Qing’s face was deathly pale as he continued drawing the summoning array in blood, all while using his own power to block 'His' perception.
His power was weak, but it seemed to counter 'His'—at least enough to conceal his presence.
Finally… the array was complete.
The summoning array belonged to another dungeon boss, and Ruan Qing wasn’t entirely sure if it could bring Su Zhen back. So, he infused the array with a large amount of his own blood and power, saturating it completely with his aura.
As it turned out, Ruan Qing’s guess was correct—his aura could indeed lure Su Zhen back.
Once completed, the array erupted in a blinding silver light, followed by a terrifying pressure emanating from its center. It was suffocating, crushing, robbing everyone of the strength to even stand.
This was a presence no less fearsome than the Freshman Representative.
The true boss of this dungeon had returned.
Xiao Mingyu’s expression went beyond shock. His lips parted, and he uttered in disbelief:
“Holy shit.”
But then—
“Fuck! He’s already merging, and now you’ve summoned his other half?! I’m gonna die even worse this time, ahhhh!”
Now, there wasn’t even a chance to escape. This clone of his was truly about to meet its end at the hands of that madman.
Ruan Qing: “...Calm down.”
“How the fuck am I supposed to calm down?!” Xiao Mingyu was on the verge of losing it, his voice laced with despair. “This clone carries half of my power! If it dies, I’ll need at least another hundred thousand years to recover!”
And that was a conservative estimate. He’d originally planned to flee if things went south, but now, escape was impossible. He’d really walked right into this mess.
Ruan Qing ignored Xiao Mingyu’s outburst. He’d promised to save him, and he had no intention of letting him die here.
Besides, he still needed answers from him.
Xiao Mingyu had tried to kill him—something 'He' would never allow. Eliminating Xiao Mingyu would undoubtedly be 'His' first priority, and no amount of pleading would likely change that.
But Su Zhen didn’t know any of this.
He and the System were already enemies. All it would take was the slightest provocation to push them into a fight to the death.
Ruan Qing materialized the events from the classroom, projecting them onto a large screen right in front of Su Zhen.
He didn’t go overboard—just the Freshman Representative embracing him from behind, followed by a single scene of the two kissing.
That was enough.
Just as Ruan Qing had predicted, Su Zhen’s face darkened the moment he saw the scene in the classroom, his entire body radiating a terrifying, oppressive aura.
The intensity of that aura was no weaker than that of the System’s avatar.
The System had descended into the dungeon in its true form the moment Xiao Mingyu tried to kill Ruan Qing. Right now, it had no interest in dealing with Su Zhen—its only goal was to eliminate Xiao Mingyu.
But Su Zhen had other plans. He attacked the System without hesitation, intent on destroying Him.
The System had been continuously stealing and assimilating power, and Su Zhen had been doing the same. Both of them had nearly fully integrated their acquired strength, making each other their greatest threat.
A battle between them was inevitable—it was only a matter of time. Now, that confrontation had simply arrived ahead of schedule.
Su Zhen’s strength wasn’t far inferior to the System’s. If He let its guard down even slightly, He could be killed. Forced to prioritize survival, the System abandoned His pursuit of Xiao Mingyu, and the two instantly clashed in a brutal fight.
This was a true fight to the death—only one victor would emerge from this game.
Xiao Mingyu stared blankly at the two locked in combat. What the hell? Since when did a guy start fighting his own avatar?
But this was clearly his chance. Without a second thought, Xiao Mingyu turned and ran—bolting without hesitation.
In his escape, he completely forgot about Ruan Qing, making no effort to honor their agreement. The sheer audacity of his betrayal was on full display.
From the very beginning, Xiao Mingyu had never intended to reveal the truth to this young man. Sometimes, ignorance really was bliss.
More importantly, killing the lunatic’s beloved would lead to a gruesome death—but so would revealing the truth to that beloved.
At least the former meant achieving his goal of killing him. Being hunted down afterward was just part of the deal. But the latter? That meant suffering the consequences without even accomplishing anything.
He wasn’t an idiot.
However, Xiao Mingyu soon came to an abrupt stop—someone had once again blocked his path.
Ruan Qing stood leaning against the wall not far away. When he noticed Xiao Mingyu, he straightened up and turned toward him, then offered a gentle, polite smile.
"Hello. I’m here to collect on our deal."
His face was nearly translucent from exhaustion after using his power to inscribe the summoning array. He was so weak he could barely stand—which was why he’d been leaning against the wall earlier.
But his presence was no less imposing than Xiao Mingyu's—not in terms of strength, but in sheer aura alone.
Some people, even after falling from grace, remain divine.
Ruan Qing looked at Xiao Mingyu. "Will you tell me the truth now?"
Xiao Mingyu pressed his tongue against the roof of his mouth, let out a soft chuckle, and turned to leave—clearly with no intention of answering.
"Do you plan to break our agreement?" Ruan Qing spoke calmly, tightening his grip on the knife in his hand.
Xiao Mingyu glanced at the blade and raised an eyebrow. "You're no match for me. As long as I don’t try to kill you, those two won’t show up."
Those two were currently fighting for final victory. Unless Ruan Qing was in real danger, they wouldn’t spare a moment to interfere.
"Besides, I’m not so easy to trap now."
Ruan Qing didn’t respond. Instead, under Xiao Mingyu’s widening, disbelieving stare, he pressed the knife against his own throat.
"You’re right. I can’t beat you."
He let out a soft laugh, his voice light and unhurried. "But all it takes is one slight move, and those two will be here instantly. Want to test that theory?"
Xiao Mingyu: "!!!" You f*cking—
AHHHH SU ZHEN TO THE RESCUEEE
