Outside the hotel, the sky was filled with orange-red fiery clouds.
A large flock of unknown black birds flew through the rose-red sunset, hovering near the distant, dilapidated, dark-gray rooftops.
When they entered the instance, it was already dusk. If it was 6 PM then, it should be midnight now.
If humans loved daylight and sunshine, and zombies loved the night and moonlight, then dusk, with its sky full of sunset glow, was the fairest time.
The city was slightly more lively than when they first arrived.
After six hours, most players scattered in different corners of the city had started to gather.
Zombie activity also became more noticeable.
Inside the hotel, several figures walked out, one after another.
The Vampire was at the forefront, walking the fastest.
Ning Su followed closely, and then the high school student, and Guo Xiao also followed.
The Vampire walked quickly, without any hesitation, as if something was guiding him.
Ning Su was just a step behind him, with two children running to keep up with him on either side.
Gui Sheng stared at an inconspicuous bug in front of the Vampire for a while. Just as he took two steps towards it, Ning Su grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back.
Gui Sheng: “Huh?”
Since Ning Su didn’t let him pick it up, he ran to the high school student’s side, tugging at ‘her’ coat, “Bug.”
The high school student looked ahead and precisely saw the brown bug that almost blended in with the muddy ground.
The Vampire immediately turned to look at Gui Sheng, his eyes full of curiosity.
“Ning Su, I haven’t asked about these two kids yet. Are they your props or weapons?” He smiled and said, “Pretty special.”
“What is your skill or profession?” He looked at Gui Sheng and then at Manman, “A bit like our club president, a puppeteer? An alchemist?”
Gui Sheng and Manman could be seen as puppets, and alchemists could also raise small figures.
The Vampire seemed more knowledgeable than Guo Xiao and appeared much smarter.
Ning Su: “I won’t tell you.”
Vampire: “...”
Ning Su: “Unless you let me drink a sip of your blood.”
Vampire: “........”
He walked even faster.
[Hahaha, this is a development I never expected. A Vampire being chased to give blood, how surreal.]
[Why on earth is this happening? Why doesn’t the Vampire suck Ning Su’s blood? He even seems a bit scared of him.]
[I’m also curious about these two kids. What exactly is Ning Su’s ability?]
[I think I somewhat understand why he was chosen by Yinhua to enter the finals.]
[Oh, stop it. It’s just to attract attention.]
The Vampire walked for a while, then paused for a second before turning and running in another direction.
Ning Su glanced at the bugs still moving in the original direction, then pricked up his ears and heard the sound of zombies coming from the direction the Vampire ran, instantly understanding his intention.
He still wasn’t reassured about them and wanted to test them personally.
The Vampire started running, so they naturally had to run too, directly towards the zombie horde ahead.
The zombies initially had no reaction to the Vampire, but when they saw who was behind him, they suddenly became agitated.
The Vampire, running, squinted dangerously at those behind him.
Guo Xiao hurriedly explained, “Ning Su is a zombie faction player. I saw it with my own eyes. This wretched person is a human!”
Ning Su was momentarily stunned.
He turned to look at the high school student beside him. Facing a guild of zombies, ‘her’ festering, scabbed hand nervously clenched, ‘her’ thin lips pressed together.
The Vampire and Guo Xiao both directed their killing intent at the high school student.
In this instance, as zombie faction players, when facing such strange human, they undoubtedly wanted to deal with ‘her’.
Suddenly, Ning Su grabbed the high school student’s wrist and led ‘her’ past the Vampire and towards the zombies.
The high school student, pulled towards the zombie horde, didn’t struggle at all.
‘She’ looked down at the boy’s hand holding ‘her’ wrist, where black energy spread through ‘her’ veins and covered ‘her’ body.
They ran into the zombie horde.
The zombies did react, looking at them, approaching a little then retreating, as if wanting to come closer but feeling hesitant.
Ning Su simply grabbed a shy zombie, patted its head, and guided the high school student’s hand to do the same.
[......?]
[What’s going on? Isn’t he from the Yinhua Guild? Aren’t the Yinhua Guild members human faction players?]
[He’s a zombie faction player? I’m confused, I don’t understand this direction anymore.]
[Can zombie faction players touch zombie heads? Ugh, I’m so envious I could cry. I hate that I wasn’t selected.]
[I don’t get it. Can some expert explain what’s happening here?]
[What’s there not to get? It must be related to his skills.]
[Everyone said this dungeon is suitable for Yongming, but I think this Yinhua player is the real deal. Amazing.]
The Vampire was also momentarily confused.
The zombies’ attitude towards Ning Su puzzled him.
It was a bit strange, but it made sense.
The Vampire shouted to them, “You’re running the wrong way, come here!”
Ning Su pulled the high school student’s wrist and ran back.
This time, the Vampire was completely relieved and felt that Ning Su could be well-utilized. He didn’t test them further and directly led them towards the Yongming Guild’s gathering place.
The closer they got to their destination, the more distinct the voices became. As they were about to reach the zombie faction’s position, they encountered another guild.
One of the players pointed at Ning Su in shock. “He, how is he here? He’s a human faction player from the Yinhua guild!”
The Vampire and Guo Xiao simultaneously said, “Shut up!”
Ning Su: “......”
[......]
The zombie faction player still wanted to say something, “It’s true......”
Guo Xiao glared at him fiercely. “If you don’t understand, don’t talk nonsense. We were pretending to be from the Yinhua Guild before!”
“But......”
“Exactly.” Ning Su interrupted his “but,” “I was pretending to be from the Yinhua Guild to deeply investigate the enemy. Do I still have to be suspected for that?”
He looked at the Vampire and Guo Xiao, blinking his clear and beautiful peach blossom eyes. “You two must vouch for me.”
“......”
[......]
The Vampire coughed, “I don’t know which small guild is spreading nonsense here. Why bother with them?”
Everyone on the base knew the Vampire; it was obvious that the Yongming Guild led the zombie faction.
The person was left speechless and didn’t dare to say anything more.
He wanted to say that he had clearly seen Ning Su with the people from the Yinhua Guild.
Ning Su nodded obediently. “Thank you, Boss. It’s really reassuring to be with the big shots of the Yongming Guild.”
After he said this, he suddenly felt the air quiet down considerably.
Gui Sheng tugged at his pants, and Ning Su slowly turned his head to see the Human Pupa Master holding a jar of human pupae and smiling at him.
Ning Su: “...”
The Human Pupa Master’s purple-red lips curved into an exaggerated smile. “Really?”
Ning Su: “…Yes, it was also very reassuring to be with you in the last instance.”
The Human Pupa Master let out a snort and stood behind the group of newcomers. “Whether they belong to the zombie faction, we have to test to find out.”
Besides Ning Su and his companions, there were about ten other players present. Hearing this, they started discussing immediately.
“How are we supposed to test?”
“Our guild is definitely part of the zombie faction. Why do we need to test?”
The Human Pupa Master didn’t care about their thoughts at all. She pointed at Ning Su. “You go first.”
Ning Ning is like a fish in water 🤣
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update 🤗 🤗
it's so well thought, now I've realized that Xia Wei didn't really see mc's true power in the last arc, she probably just thought that he was half lucky to pass that dungeon
