In the latter part of the night, the spaceship came to a halt, and they had arrived at Planet B1.
Zhan Xi and Ling Qi returned to their room on the spaceship and slept beside the children.
Lele slept very well, with both hands tucked inside the blanket without coming out.
But Ningning was different.
Right now, he’s sleeping with his head on top of Lele’s, one chubby foot resting on the bedside shelf. It’s an oddly perplexing sleeping position to look at, yet the little one was sleeping soundly.
Zhan Xi adjusted the unruly little child and then squeezed onto the bed with Ling Qi.
They managed to get through the night like this, and by the next morning, the two adults woke the children up.
“Ling Qi, have you noticed that Ningning seems much more energetic since sleeping with me?”
Zhan Xi carefully examined the little child’s eyes and noticed that the dark circles were almost gone.
Ling Qi was still rummaging through the wardrobe for clothes, not turning around. “How do these two outfits look?”
Lele was going to see his mom, so naturally, he needed to be dressed in the best clothes.
Fortunately, Ai Wei and Twain had prepared clothes for Lele.
Zhan Xi looked up. “Bright red, very festive. Let’s go with this color.”
Since it was almost New Year’s, the children should wear something red.
Both children wore bright red cotton jackets and red tiger-head shoes on their feet.
“So festive and beautiful.”
Ling Qi looked at the two children dressed in red and was very satisfied. “It’s a bit cold here in winter, so you mustn’t take off your hats and scarves casually, okay?”
“If you get cold, you’ll have to take medicine and shots.”
Under the threat of medicine and shots, both children obediently nodded and vowed not to take off their hats and scarves.
In addition to hats and scarves, Ling Qi personally knitted gloves for them.
“Uncle Ling Qi, Ningning look so red.”
The little child looked at the red gloves Uncle Ling Qi put on him and thought that if he went out like this, the all-red little child would surely dazzle others.
“It looks so good.”
Ling Qi’s simple statement dispelled the little child’s concerns.
The somewhat vain little child, touching the hem of his red cotton jacket, glanced at his tiger-head shoes, happily took his father’s hand, and walked outside with him.
The two children were bundled up thickly and soon found it hard to walk.
Zhan Xi and Ling Qi each carried one, holding the children in their arms. “Lele, have you seen these streets before?”
“No.”
Lele was lighter, so Zhan Xi let Ling Qi carry Lele while he carried the chubby little child, whose weight doubled with the cotton jacket.
Back on B1 planet, Lele wasn’t too excited. He leaned against Ling Qi’s neck, looking at the people on the street, still a bit timid.
Ling Qi carried him along the street, occasionally buying things that children liked.
“Uncle Ling Qi, Ningning wants that!”
The little child wasn’t shy at all. When he saw many stalls selling food on the street, he struggled out of his father’s arms.
He didn’t want his dad to carry him or hold his hand. Instead, he eagerly went from one stall to another, asking his dad to buy him things to eat.
There were many local snacks, all appealing in appearance, smell, and taste.
The chubby hands of the little child could barely hold everything, even though they were filled with plenty of snacks. Yet, the little child still eyed other treats hungrily.
“Zhan Xi, we can’t let him eat randomly like this.”
These street snacks were fine in moderation. Eating too much might upset his stomach.
Zhan Xi agreed with Ling Qi.
When the little child again pointed to a stall selling handmade spicy sticks and said he wanted to buy them, Zhan Xi firmly rejected his request.
“No more snacks. You can choose something else. I see a book stall ahead. Let’s pick a few composition books to read, okay?”
Ningning: “...”
Ningning: “No!”
The little child who only wanted to eat, drink, and play had no interest in buying or reading books at all.
They strolled along the streets, and with Dad Ningning’s shopping spree calming him down, Lele’s emotions became much more stable. He also wriggled out from Ling Qi’s arms and, amidst the bustling street, held Ling Qi’s hand, curiously looking around at both sides.
He grew up here, yet he had never seen the streets here.
Zhan Xi and Ling Qi didn’t know Lele’s mom’s address, but Zhan Xi told Lele’s mom about their plans.
Before boarding the spaceship, Zhan Xi even told her their route for today.
If she was willing, they could meet her here.
If she didn’t want to show up, she could also look for Lele in the crowd.
“It’s so much fun here.”
The children were eating something, looking at the lively street, and squinting their eyes in admiration. “Lele, your hometown is really lively.”
Lele held a cotton candy and also thought this place was nice.
Their group stood out quite a bit, after all, with the kids dressed so brightly in red; they were the only ones like that on the whole street.
The two kids were also good-looking, even more handsome than child stars on TV.
Zhan Xi and Ling Qi were stopped by other parents and asked where they bought their clothes and shoes.
Zhan Xi smiled and pointed to Ling Qi. “The clothes were bought on White Mist Star, and he made the shoes.”
These tiger head shoes were not easy to find on the market, but Ling Qi could make them.
Ling Qi studied for a long time before making these tiger head shoes that symbolized children growing strong like little tigers.
When the parents asking about the shoes heard that Ling Qi made them himself, they were instantly regretful, “I wanted to buy two pairs too. It looks like I won’t be able to get them now.”
Making tiger head shoes was troublesome, so Ling Qi could only spare time to make them for the two children.
They played from morning until evening.
The children sat in the chairs in the noodle shop’s private room, feeling a bit puzzled, “Why haven’t we gone to find Lele’s mom yet?”
Zhan Xi was about to speak when Ling Qi suddenly pulled him.
“Ningning, Lele, we’re going outside to buy you some water. You two stay here and keep eating. Remember to wait for us to come back.”
“Yeah!”
After responding, the little child couldn’t help but remind them anxiously, “You must come back soon and don’t lose Ningning.”
Children could easily get lost when adults were not around.
If the children got lost, it’s too late for adults to cry.
The two adults, who had been lectured by the little child, almost didn’t want to leave. Fortunately, Ling Qi forcibly pulled Zhan Xi away.
They didn’t go far either, just watching from a distance.
This distance ensured that even if the children encountered danger or other emergencies, they could rush over immediately.
“Have you seen Lele’s mom?”
“Hmm, she’s been following us. I think it’s her.”
Ling Qi said this and bought some snacks nearby. “If the two of us don’t leave, I don’t think she’ll come out.”
They were just taking this as an opportunity to give Lele’s mother some space.
