The staff member paused after speaking, perhaps realizing his words could be misunderstood, and continued, “Please don’t get me wrong.”
“I do not wish to take your life; I simply want you.”
The staff member explained with a smile, “I have noticed that gamblers like to mate after winning, so I am curious.”
He spoke very bluntly, and perhaps in his eyes, pleasure was nothing more than mating.
He was simply telling the truth.
However, these words were somewhat unpleasant to hear, and the gamblers present were somewhat displeased.
After all, in their view, “mating” usually described irrational animals, and this word was practically an insult to them.
But since violence was prohibited in the Life and Death Casino, the gamblers could only mutter a few curses under their breath.
The viewers who joined the live stream later did not see the streamer’s earlier actions, and upon hearing the staff member’s words, thought they understood why the streamer’s followers were growing so quickly.
[Damn, this is exciting! I didn’t expect such a good-looking streamer to be so risque.]
[Hurry up! Hurry up! I want to see some adult content.]
The reaction of the viewers who had been there from the beginning was completely different. They immediately started cursing, not only in the chat but also at the staff member.
[You bastard! What the hell are you barking about!? You want to mate with my wife? Do you even deserve it? I’ll **** you ****!]
[I laughed. Just a gambler guarding a lousy table dares to covet my wife? Do you not have a mirror? Come on, give me your address, I’ll send you one.]
After hearing the staff member’s words, Ruan Qing responded with a faint “Oh,” loosened his fingers, pressing on the playing cards, and let them fall onto the gambling table.
“I won’t gamble.”
Ruan Qing said, standing up to leave.
The gamblers watched the staff member’s smile falter slightly because of the young man’s actions and felt a surge of satisfaction, making way for him like a guard of honor welcoming a king.
The staff member looked at Ruan Qing’s back and politely asked, “May I ask why?”
Ruan Qing stopped in his tracks, turned to look at the staff member, and slightly lifted his fair, jade-like chin.
“Because I don’t fancy you.”
“And you don’t deserve to make me use this as a bet.”
Ruan Qing had a slender figure, but his presence was not weak. His slightly raised chin gave off an aura of arrogance.
His beautiful eyes also carried a hint of disdain, looking at the staff member as if he was garbage.
Arrogant to the extreme.
The admiration in the eyes of all the gamblers present deepened. They all understood what Ruan Qing meant.
He could gamble with his life, die spectacularly, or lose everything, but he would not accept any humiliation.
Indeed, this was an insult to a gambler.
Gamblers liked beautiful vases, but not a single one genuinely respected these beauties.
They didn’t even see the beauties as independent individuals.
Beauties were merely trophies of their victory, nothing more.
A truly mad gambler would never accept such a bet.
Unless they had feelings for the other party.
But clearly, the young man had no such feelings for the staff member.
The gamblers were exhilarated. Their favorite thing was gambling, and their second favorite was watching the casino staff get humbled.
The staff member frowned after hearing Ruan Qing’s words, feeling uncharacteristically uncomfortable.
He wasn’t sure if it was because of the rejection or the phrase “I don’t fancy you.”
He thought he might be a bit sick to make such a bet with a human.
After all, this wasn’t just an interspecies issue.
It was like a human buying a fish for New Year’s and then deciding to marry the fish.
Even more absurdly, the fish refused.
Suppressing his discomfort, the staff member’s smile returned. “Sorry, I was a bit arrogant.”
“So, what would you like to bet on?”
This was the staff member’s concession, and all the gamblers could see it.
Ruan Qing naturally saw it too. He returned to the gambling table and casually tapped it with his fingertips.
“Let’s gamble by your rules.”
This gambling table was for betting gold coins, and once the coins were gone, one could bet valuable personal items.
The danger was not high, but the gold coin requirement was somewhat steep.
This was because the entrance ticket here required three hundred gold coins, and the betting stakes were quite large. If you’re not careful, you might lose everything.
Of course, if you’re lucky, it’s possible to get rich overnight.
“Alright.” The staff member pressed a button on the gaming table, causing it to tilt slightly, and the cards on it fell into the table’s interior.
He then took out a new deck of cards and quickly shuffled them with practiced skill.
“Which game would you like to play?”
Ruan Qing glanced at the side options; this table supported quite a few games, basically all poker variants.
He casually chose one called ‘High-Low’, which was one of the simplest games.
High-Low involved dividing two or more decks of cards into several parts, comparing the values in each round, and the person with the highest value would take the cards for that round.
In the end, you see who had collected the most cards.
This game could be played by multiple gamblers together, but currently, only the staff member and Ruan Qing were sitting at the table.
Other gamblers watching nearby looked on, and one of them directly joined the table.
One bespectacled player, who had been here for a few days, hesitated for a moment before heading to the table.
A curly-haired girl beside him immediately pulled him back and shook her head.
The bespectacled player gently patted her hand to reassure her and then proceeded to the table.
The curly-haired girl bit her lip but did not stop him further and instead stood by his side.
Their intimate posture suggested they were either siblings or a couple.
The newly arrived players were a bit nervous, even though they were not the ones gambling. They hadn’t started betting yet and were watching the other players for the first time.
Their gold coins were too few. Although the initial gold coins provided by the game seemed plenty, a few bets could quickly deplete them.
Some players gathered behind the bespectacled player, some behind the staff member, and others behind Ruan Qing.
As for the stakes, Ruan Qing threw all his gold coin vouchers and coins onto the table.
Since he threw them somewhat carelessly, some coins fell to the ground.
Thanks for the update
