The second exam started quickly.
The second exam was math, which was even more anxiety-inducing than the first.
This was true for both the students from the native world and the players.
For players with comprehension ability and a decent level of education, the Chinese exam wasn’t much of a problem, but the math exam was truly nerve-wracking.
The math exam for the third year of high school was difficult even when the questions weren’t intentionally made tough; the inherent difficulty was there.
Moreover, the difficulty level of this exam was higher than that of the Chinese exam.
The students from the native world were just as nervous, much more so than during the Chinese exam.
The two-hour Chinese exam had already planted the seeds of tension and fear. Now, with tense nerves and exhausted bodies, they were thrown into the more intense math exam, causing more and more people to become so nervous that they could barely hold their pens.
Amid the rustling sound of students answering questions, the occasional tearing sound heightened everyone’s nerves.
The tension in the exam hall built up layer by layer, filling the air with a scorching, taut atmosphere like a fully drawn bowstring suspended beside each person’s neck, making them too scared to breathe.
Some people finally couldn’t take it anymore, covering their ears and holding their heads.
Some began tearing up their exam papers, only to be quickly stunned by the proctors and dragged out of the exam hall.
Now they all understood why there were so many proctors and two officers in each exam room.
Ning Su finished the exam in 40 minutes.
After completing the exam, he kept observing the students and players around him.
Sitting near the middle and to the right of the room, he noticed a girl diagonally in front of him experiencing the same situation as Wang Zhiqiu.
Many people in the exam hall were nervous, with shaking hands and sweating, but none had the same terrified look as Wang Zhiqiu.
This girl, however, did. Like Wang Zhiqiu, she was initially writing furiously, but then she suddenly stopped.
She stared blankly at the exam paper, her eyes wide with fear.
She patted her head and began looking at the questions below, her face growing paler and her expression increasingly desperate.
She wasn’t sweating; she just stared blankly and somewhat dazedly at the exam paper, with tears dripping down.
“Knock, knock!”
The desk was tapped twice.
A teacher stood beside him, staring suspiciously at Ning Su. “What are you doing? Why aren’t you focusing on your exam paper? What are you looking at?”
It was obvious that he was being suspected of trying to cheat.
Ning Su had no intention of causing more anxiety for the already tense students, but the teacher had already opened his answer sheet and was surprised, letting out a “huh?”
Hearing the sound, two more teachers came over.
“He actually finished in less than an hour?”
Another math teacher glanced at the paper. “He got everything right! Even the final challenge question is done!”
“......”
A lot of players instantly looked over, and the other students started answering questions faster and with more tension.
The three teachers’ attitudes toward Ning Su immediately changed.
“You’re Ning Su, right? Do you want to hand in your paper and go rest?”
Ning Su shook his head.
“You could also stay here and soak in the exam atmosphere. Would you like something to drink?”
Ning Su: “......”
Is this allowed?
But he was afraid of getting hit.
Ning Su thought for a moment. He didn’t say he wanted something to drink, but just looked really thirsty, swallowing hard.
The teacher immediately brought him a box of milk.
Ning Su quietly sipped the milk, making no noise, while continuing to observe.
The players looked at him with envy, jealousy, and hatred.
They had been in the game for almost four hours now; who wouldn’t want something to drink?
Not only did they not get to drink anything, but they also had to answer this infuriating, mind-boggling math test.
At this moment, with his test completed and sipping on milk, Ning Su became the object of extreme envy, jealousy, and hatred.
Ning Su seemed oblivious, happily narrowing his eyes, continuing his covert observation without interruption.
Ten minutes had passed.
The girl didn’t break down and tear up the test paper like Wang Zhiqiu; she just looked pale as she stared at the paper.
Her back was hunched, and she held her pen in her hand, her head bowed, pretending to work on the test.
She was scribbling aimlessly on the scratch paper, not knowing what she was writing. After a while, the pen came to a stop.
At that moment, another student in the classroom broke down and was taken out.
The girl looked at that student, despair and panic spreading across her pale face, and quickly lowered her head.
With two minutes left before the end of the exam, Ning Su handed in his paper early.
Holding his test paper, answer sheet, and a blank piece of scratch paper, he slowed down as he passed by the girl’s desk and glanced at her answer sheet and scratch paper.
The girl had only completed a third of her test, but that third was highly accurate.
On her scratch paper, there were no formulas or calculations, but rather a lot of disorganized writing.
Ning Su took a quick glance and only caught a few sentences.
[My name is Xia Mengyu. I am 18 years old, a senior in class 10 at Qingyi High School.]
[I have a grandmother and a younger brother. My brother’s name is Xia Jiahe, and my grandmother’s name is Meng Yue.]
[Grandmother’s phone number: 15837...]
“Ring—”
The girl hurriedly tucked away that piece of scratch paper while still sitting at her desk.
The internal mock exams at Qingyi High School weren’t that strict. While they required submission of the answer sheets and test papers, the scratch paper didn’t need to be handed in.
With the math exam over, the morning’s exams were finished.
Exhausted, the students in the exam room started to leave, feeling as though they had narrowly escaped death.
The teacher from the political education office, who had come to pick them up at the school gate, was there again, saying, “I’ll take everyone to the cafeteria.”
He handed them a meal card, saying, “This card can be used for five meals.”
A player asked, “Why only five meals? There are still 60 days until the college entrance exams.”
The teacher replied, “The results of your mock exams will be out the day after tomorrow, and different meal cards will be issued according to your scores at that time.”
“......”
Having gone through two exams that morning, none of the players were injured, and all 100 of them followed the teacher to the cafeteria.
During the two-hour lunch break, after the teacher left, the players quickly got their meals and gathered in groups to discuss the game instance.
The school cafeteria had mostly long tables, with four-seat and six-seat arrangements being the most common.
Shi Tianzhu was the first to sit down at a six-person table, and immediately, several players wanted to join her, but someone beat them to it.
Seeing Ning Changfeng sitting across from Shi Tianzhu with a calm expression, the other players were confused: “?”
Shi Tianzhu also lifted her eyelids and gave him a cold glance.
Ning Changfeng looked indifferent. “I’m saving a seat for my good... brother, Ning Su. He said he wants to sit and eat with President Shi.”
Shi Tianzhu looked over at Ning Su.
The young man was peeking out from one window, then ran over to peek out from another.
With this kind of meal card, he could only get a boxed lunch or a limited set meal.
Ning Su kept looking back and forth, carefully comparing.
Having sat there for a while and nearly dying of embarrassment from the awkward atmosphere, Ning Changfeng: “...”
“I’ll give you my drumstick!”
“Alright!” Ning Su immediately went to choose the teppanyaki beef set meal.
Soon, he happily brought over the teppanyaki beef and sat down, dragging Ling Xiao along with him.
A lot of players were seated around them, all perking up their ears to listen to their discussion about the dungeon.
However, not a sound could be heard.
Thanks for the update
